  1. You got a ways to go buddy (j/k) - on the cube I mean. Pics and subject matter = spot on
  2. 2nd marble from the OP looks like a 'snotty' except purple hues. Wouldn't want to call it a purple-hued-snotty but the thought very much crossed my mind
  3. These might not fall into the 'rare' category, but I don't see these too often and sure would like to see more And a couple other types/colors you don't see everyday
  4. Is there a Macro setting on your camera? (the symbol looks like a flower). Might help with the focus. Nice oxblood on that marble
  5. Interesting experiment. I think any kid at some point probably tried the to achieve the same goal, except back then it made the most sense to try and bash the outside layers off to expose the cool design (or animals) inside. Someday maybe one of the high end marble glass makers will find a medium to carry the inner pattern, that can later be dissolved (chemically or whatever) to leave just the inner pattern intact. Fragile and beautiful. And then somebody might come up the idea of encasing that fragile and beautiful pattern in a durable layer of clear glass and here we are again.. (and the marbles keep on rolling)
  6. Good way to put it Chuck. It almost looks like it wanted to be a multicolor swirl with a transparent green base (but without the twist and way more opaque white than transparent green). Neat marble
  7. I'd say both those marbles could be described as 'rare' as far as handmades go. Would like to see some more pics of black latts or some of the other harder to get colors (blue, green, etc)
  8. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/photos/view/beautiful-weather/frigid-temps-make-beautiful-bubbles/18035280 Frozen bubbles? Top one looks like a clear Mica !
  9. Your technique appears to be getting better, last one is interesting
  10. Stellar on the blue. I don't collect Sulfides but that looks like a great group overall
  11. If you've had them for 35 yrs at least you know the recent history 1st pic that isn't a Pelt , most likely a 'German striped opaque' A couple others look like Akro in the 1st pic. The red white one is a nice combo/colors
  12. Only marbles I've sold (in the last 20 yrs or so) were to members on this board and they were good transactions.
  13. I'd agree with polished. To me it doesn't even look close to a 'Brian Graham' style (and of course, haven't seen them all)
  14. Sahweeet! Aventurine in the blue on Liberty's gives it that extra flair. I've only seen one other (there are more out there I'm sure)
  15. Evidence of an opposite pontil is there but being a clear marble you need to look close without a 'pattern' to help. The ball rotates freely- instead of being 'clutched' there's actually a standoff above the midpoint on each claw, (to minimize friction as it rotates). Not a bad design.
  16. I think I've seen a similar colored one before but not as translucent and more of a darker orange than a yellow-ish orange. And the pattern wasn't as crazy. Heck, maybe it wasn't even close at all. lol. Nice marble tho
  17. Maybe a counter weight? It would be interesting to know if evidence of glass chips, (as a result of the visible marble damage), were also found inside the doll. might not seem like much in the grand scheme of things but could be a clue--
  18. A three head grinding machine would make it about as spherical as it gets (if that's the goal)
  19. Yeah, I know it's tougher to explain without seeing it. If you're able to PM I can send details
  20. Good self control to put down the shovel long enough to take those pics what magical cleaning solution are you using?
  21. New(er). At that price I hope they can work something out.
