  1. Well, the front one appears to have a sheen on it that I associate with Asian. but since I don't see how the ends of the ribbons come together, I shouldn't jump to conclusions. Would be good to show those "cutlines" ... the ends of the ribbons.
  2. I think those are in the modern Asian family, also known as "Imperials".
  3. Did you mean to include other photos? It's looking like all Vitro in these pix.
  4. In the green and blue bags, I see some which could possibly be a little older than 1970.
  5. Hi. These appear to be mostly modern (after 1970) and commons. No particular value, though of course a little value since modern marbles are still being sold at in retail stores for at least a few cents each.
  6. You could start a new one with the same theme. Photobucket changed their terms of service so drastically that accounts became unusable for most people.
  7. The marble community has lost another notable collector. Read more: Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Homes - Posts | Facebook
  8. I don't know ... but I can bump ....
  9. Hello. Thanks for the kind words. Jump in any time.
  10. I've been dreaming for 12 years about a camera which could do that. I've gotten two cameras in that time ... and neither one could. I guess I'm going to have to take a marble and a laptop into a camera store and check the cameras out in person before I buy so I don't strike out again.
  11. I'm guessing the road and tunnel trumps the nine-ish aspects ... so I'll go with CAC.
  12. It is a beautiful thing that you and Jake got to share marbles.
  13. Thanks for posting! So much beauty. Yes, your box contents look right! Congratulations. Glad I could help in some small way with a morsel of information.
  14. Greeneyes, Jabo started making this style of marbles in the 1990's. It's a common thing for even an older collection to get newer marbles mixed in. Someone finds a stray marble and remembers where the old marble jar is, and that seems a logical place to put the marble.
  15. If you have any chipped ones, keep them with the collection. Call them the injured reserve list.
  16. Akros were machine-made marbles. This marble is also machine-made and I can't swear that it isn't Akro, but I don't really have a guess for it.
  17. Transparent swirls are hard to pin down by maker. So many different West Virginia swirl companies to consider, plus Alox in Missouri.
  18. 6 o'clock -- "rainbo", no other name that I know of 12 o'clock ... multicolor rainbo ... nlr era ... maybe called clear Christmas tree. 3 o'clock -- pelt rainbo I think Alley in the middle. don't know at 9 o'clock
  19. WV swirl on the left. But on the right? I don't recognize it. Vitro? Peltier? Akro? Marble King? Jabo?
  20. Looks like a Vitro to me. Maybe 1930's or 1950's.
  21. Identifying WV swirls just got harder than ever! Never would have guessed such interesting combos came from Heaton.
  22. The backgammon one never occurred to me, but it really is a versatile idea with those extra sections. And not too hard to come by at thrift stores.
