  1. I'm going with Master. Maybe it would qualify for a Sunburst label.
  2. Sweet. I wouldn't call that common! I may be seeing a seam. I'm wondering if it could possibly be a Marble King instead of the swirl I first thought it was. Just wow.
  3. Some have bands. At least one has a bullseye. They are agates. I'm seeing signs of the damage which comes from some serious marble playing -- which some of us like to see. It would stop those from earning the "mint" label but they would be thought of as veterans instead. 75 years would put them back to 1944. Good chance they're a bit older than that. Call them early 1900's but the popularity of agates goes back even earlier.
  4. Welcome, Kelly. Thanks, Ron. Jabo on #3 in the group photo, right?
  5. Probably Vitro in the middle. Alley on the right?

    Basic

Possibly Akro on the top two on the right. Middle right is Vitro Tiger Eye. Next one down is Marble King Rainbow Red. I don't know on bottom. Maybe modern? On the left, Vitro at #2, 4 and probably 5. Maybe on #3, but I wonder about Akro there. Not seeing much detail on the big one at #1.
  7. Marbles you've thought of parting with -- for money or friendship -- but you just couldn't do it. I bought these from an esteemed seller. It was in facebook offering. The listing was bargain-priced and there were even more marbles than I'm showing here. I couldn't believe there were no takers, so I was trying to help talk the group up, and then I decided I had to have them. Maybe Marble King copperheads just aren't as desirable to others as I expected them to be. But I'm afraid if I ever did part with them I'd have to pay dearly to get any back. So the three copperheads in this group are in my "you better not think about selling these" group. But I guess I _would_ consider giving them away if it were really important to someone.

    Be fun

At 5/8", I'd guess more like a nickel or dime.
  9. I'll bump it for you. I could see them all being Alley but I can see why you'd wonder about #1.

    More help plz!

Top to bottom on left: 1. Might be a Japanese Wales style marble. (Or could be a Vitro Conqueror -- really need to see the seams on that one.) 2. Don't know. Maybe Vitro. 3. Probably Master. 4. Master 5. Not sure. Marble King? Master? Vitro? Modern? On right: 1. I started to say Vitro, but I suppose Peltier is also in the running. 2. Not seeing enough features 3. I think Vitro 4. Not sure, maybe Vitro 5. Definitely Vitro. A Tri-lite. An off-center Helmet. 1930's.
  11. Cutlines and seams on machine-made marbles. Not "pontils". The green one on the right might also have a cold roll.
  12. I agree Jabo. I agree less than a dollar. I don't know what it would be called other than Jabo Classic. Just fun to play around with lighting.
  13. I'll never remember! So you have to make sure to hang around to keep things straight!
  14. After many years out of the workforce, I got a job. A manual labor job. So I'm tired! I'm going to have to seriously discipline myself to set time aside to fix the broken photobucket links in many of my Study Hall threads.
  15. If an older marble, then matte finish would likely mean time spent in water, such as in an aquarium or dump (or privy). Newer marbles are given some sort of treatment (I think acid wash) to get a matte finish.
  16. Oh yes, you can assume Akro if you have a distinct corkscrew. For sure Akro on top. I would say for sure Akro on the middle but the jagged ribbon made me wonder. The top of the middle one is pure Akro. The frosted finish means there's no point in assigning it a grade. It would be the lowest grade on the mint scale. Probably spent a lot of time in water. But with that strange structure it might still generate some interest.
  17. The last picture is mostly Peltier Rainbos. The bottom might be Master though those colors strike me as unusual. The top two groups are a lot of West Virginia Swirls, including for sure some Alley Agates.

    Be fun

With that U-shape in the ribbon, Jabo is a possibility.
  19. The bottom is a Peltier Multicolor Rainbo. A National Line era marble. The top one is beautiful. The zig zag in the orange one is odd.

    Help with ID

Yes. Vacor. I like the backlighted photo. Some surprising things have been found inside those practically black marbles.
