  1. And one more for now ... this is the recommendation which started my current Canadian binge .... Vancouver folk-indie
  2. ... and bump ... this was specially recommended to me again today by a Canadian who saw I was interested in their music
  3. ... toward that end ... bump .....
  4. *blush* Thank you, Bud. You're very sweet. Thank you for playing marbles with us.
  5. Trying to learn a little bit more about Canadian music ... not a lot more since music kinda overwhelms me ... but some ..... so here is some
  6. (Psst, you guys do realize we don't mind the questions, right? This is what we do for fun. :-) )
  7. When you have a few months under your belt, while it's still fresh, you can make notes with pictures about what you think would be helpful for a new person trying to sort things out the first time. Eh?
  8. It's good to hear your perspective. What you're struggling over. I sorta wanna say, "We can start a patch thread and a ribbon thread". But then my brain explodes a little because of the trouble I'd have sorting some of the marbles into patches or ribbons.
  9. I guess the answer to that has to be "yes", since all I see is slag there. But I'm not up to explaining the finer points of slags. I'm just at the "know 'em when I see 'em ... usually" stage.
  10. I hear ya. The fried marble pix I've been looking at look more fractured and reflective. Here's hoping they turn out to be a treasure.
  11. While I'm in the neighborhood, some Peltier feathering borrowed from Ray Tetrick's facebook wall today.
  12. I think the blue is a slag, but it doesn't look like a Peltier. Peltiers are famous for having a "feathering". Not all Pelt slags did, but that's the sign that we look for to identify a Pelt in the wild. Ray Tetrick posted these on facebook today ... they show the iconic feathering.
  13. My first thought is "fried marbles". Clearies. They were a big fad in the 1960's. But maybe I'm wrong and that will turn out to be something more interesting inside.
  14. I kinda thought so too ... that the 2nd one might not have as many Peltier markers as the first but side by side with the first it looked related.
  15. ?? You can't add more photos to a new post? (I think there's a limit on how much you can post in a single post, but can you start over in a new post?)
  16. Hi! Never heard of "butterfly" before, but now that I have I like it!
  17. That sounds good to me. There was something about the texture of the white that made me cross my eyes. European sounds like a good explanation for it.
  18. A version of this is the title track -- a 1968 recording with Mickey and Harry together i
  19. The latest Monkees album -- http://ultimateclassicrock.com/monkees-good-times/ One track ....
  20. Impressive is the word. Overwhelmed at planning all that out ahead.
  21. Steph

    ID please

Then just based on the pix, I'll stick with four slags to go with the cat, but the differences in the shades are kinda interesting.
