More views needed on the top left. #2 on the top left is a Peltier. #5 on the top row is Peltier. #6 looks like it might be also.
Most of those are West Virginia Swirls. Named West Virginia Swirls because there were more than 10 marble making companies in West Virginia making somewhat similar styles of marbles.
I think most or all of your WV Swirls were made by the Alley company.
I'm about to run off to do an errand. Maybe someone else will take the book question. If not I'll try to remember to look up a few references for you soon.
