Interesting. Thank you. I've always appreciated Dave's contributions.
  4. So you mean there were some small patches as well as the large ones? I read an article -- an old article -- which said Ravenswood was able to make large marbles. I think 1" was specified.
  5. Jill Spencer is known as the Marble Queen. She owned a Paden City dumpsite used by MK around 1964. (I dont' know if "used by" is correct. But there were gobs of circa 1964 MK's there.)
  6. Another book I happened across ... The Marble Queen
  7. I wonder if that's the same as the one the Marble Queen called a Blue Boy. http://www.marblequeen.com/images/marbles/item32m.jpg http://www.marblequeen.com/marbles.htm

    Food

Last night hubby brought me home a small pot with fresh cilantro growing in it. And OMG ... one taste and I was in heaven. I'd been using dried cilantro for cooking and the fresh is so different. Before I tasted the fresh last night I had no idea it was the primary ingredient in the "spring rolls" I used to get in Oklahoma. Here in Wisconsin the "spring rolls" are deep fried and I don't know what their ingredients are. But in Oklahoma they're cool and crisp and not fried. And apparently they have cilantro. This may not be a surprise to anyone here but it was a revelation to me. Before that I only knew of cilantro as an ingredient of pico de gallo. I never made the connection. But one taste of the fresh and it was like having those spring rolls that I missed so much. So today I used some in a rice dish and oolala, so wonderful.

  11. I had popped in with the plan to post in this thread, so I will anyway. Here's a fun little item. Filled with Vitro Cat's Eyes from the 1950's. (Don Miller's)
  12. nice, nice, nice. Maybe the best pictures I've seen of those.
  13. Do you have an example of one of their auctions? I thought I knew who it might be but if they've had that name since Feb-27-01 like their ID history on ebay says, then they're probably not who I was thinking of.
