I think 1/2" is 000.
00 = 9/16"
0 = 5/8"
1 = 11/16"
2 = 3/4"
4 = 7/8"
6 = 1"
That might make No. 10 = 1 1/4". There is a reference to No. 10 MFC's here, but I don't see the measurement.
I think those sizes apply to many/most/all American made. But German marbles could be different.
Dang!
Good luck. Are you sure you don't want to break those up into smaller lots?
I'd think some of the Vitro items would have great appeal as standalones. Edit: and I made that comment before I even saw the Blackbeard's Treasure Chest box.
But seriously good luck.
If that has a name, I don't know it. It makes me think of Imperial, though not the type which is most commonly called Imperial. There were several different kinds of marbles which were sold in Imperial boxes and I wonder if this might have been one.
So you mean there were some small patches as well as the large ones?
I read an article -- an old article -- which said Ravenswood was able to make large marbles. I think 1" was specified.
Jill Spencer is known as the Marble Queen. She owned a Paden City dumpsite used by MK around 1964. (I dont' know if "used by" is correct. But there were gobs of circa 1964 MK's there.)
