    Estate find

That last one was well-loved! A nice start of a collection.

Clean gently. Too hot or too cold water can crack them.

    Estate find

Nice vintage group! Good find. Not that easy to get seriously vintage marbles at estate sales.
  4. Okay, then my guess is wonky Vitro Opal.
  5. Being a "single seam" makes it an oddball and could make ID-ing harder since it doesn't fit the standard pattern for the most likely manufacturers.
  6. Not a parrot. Pictures in other lighting, on a less textured background might help us have more ideas.
  7. Quick picture snag from an ebay auction for "Marble King Beach Balls".
  8. Marble King on the right. Am fairly sure about that. I'll accept Pelt on the left, though I wasn't sure at first. Something about the glass texture. Probably just a trick of the light.

    Pelt?

My first thought was that the colors looked like modern Marble King but I didn't think it would be MK because the white is an equatorial ribbon instead of end patches. At this point I don't know if it's modern or vintage. If it's vintage, I'll leave it to you guys to sort it out. If it's modern ... could be Vacor.
  10. Wiggly, irregular vanes could point to Vacor.
  11. The supply of 1930's marbles is dwindling. Cat's eyes are more accessible ... and more familiar to people, nostalgically speaking. And there are forums dedicated to them, which has to raise interest. Maybe this is a flash in the pan and sellers need to dump while the getting is good. But maybe their time is come. In 50 years, the "vintage marbles" will be the Vacors being rolled out now.
  12. Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for the lovely thought, Chad.
  13. The color combo in the first made me think of Heaton ....
  14. I do not see Jabo on either. That "buttcrack" which Mojo mentions on the first looks more like a "turkey head" to me. Not saying CAC Turkey. But I would sure have thought at least WV swirl on that one.
  15. I like that Sharp Shooter Marbles bag. That's the most interesting item to me. I would personally bid $20 on it if I had the chance. For the Globos Marmeln, I might be willing to pay over $10. I guess I might go $5 per bag for those other bags. I wish I could make out what's in the yellow mesh at the bottom. The German one is common but looks like it may be a good size, which I would also be willing to pay up to $20 for but I might be overpaying as far as current market value. Now that I'm about ready to post, I see Chuck's answer, and it completely matches what I expected a seasoned collector would say. I was trying to give an answer from the point of view of someone without a large collection already. And Chuck addressed that also. P.s., I really do like that Sharp Shooter bag header.

    I.d help

On the right bases on the color and the seam, I think Vitro or Marble King. On the left, I don't know. My first thought was borderline vintage Asian, but I don't feel strongly about that.
  17. I'm actually wondering about Anacortes Vitro on all of them.
  18. I'm thinking Jabo or Anacortes Vitro on this one:
  19. Interesting find. I am not familiar with that book or author.
  20. Interesting that you think so. I thought the glow would get more people thinking Pelt. But you're the pelt head and you've moved over to Akro. Gotta take that seriously.
  21. As an aside, it's interesting how some of your pics show a clear base and some suggest a more translucent base. A demonstration of what a difference lighting and other conditions can make.
