  1. The only reason I go there is because they don't appear to be CAC, Alley, Ravenswood, or fit well with any other vintage maker IMO. Champion would be the only place I can see them sort of fitting in if vintage.
  2. Vacor comes to mind, the only one I know of similar is Enchanted Forest but the white isn't this strandy in most. I'm not sure what they are.
  3. I agree, good catch, that one is reworked.
  4. Sorry I meant to reply with a picture of the bag with the string and forgot. Years later, here it is. Still the only one known to exist. I don't know if this bag ever made it to retail or not.

    3/4 WVS

Alley. He wasn't in Sistersville for long but he sure made a lot of this color combo while there.

    Stumped

    That's a Kokomo.
  7. The beauty berry is a very dark, almost black purple base with a lighter purple opaque ribbon in it. Same as the blackberry as far as the base, but the blackberry has a white ribbon. I agree the marble is narrowed down to the best two possibilities. Sometimes that's the best that can be done. I think I lean a little more towards Sistersville but that could change next time I look at it lol.
  8. I'd probably put that in the Alox box.
  9. Akro does seem right for it, I agree.
  10. Those coppery blotches are most commonly found on Ravenswoods IMO. Interesting mib. If it wasn't for that I would have gone with Alley just because of the color and the pattern is in bounds for Alley.
  11. Marshal Wilson contacted me about putting together a show down here in SW Georgia. I put out some feelers and there is a ton of interest. Soooo.... Valdosta Georgia is about to have it's first marble show. The hotel is amazing, rates are good, and this is going to be a great kickoff. Come see how many collectors have been hoarding in the South. The show is in Valdosta just off interstate 75 just North of the Florida line and interstate 10. There are other attractions like Wild Adventures theme park, Grand Bay wildlife area with boardwalks and gators and fishing. 3 hours from Orlando, 1.5 from Tallahassee FL. There will be several local area sellers and collectors for sure. I will be there all days for in room trading and conversation/fellowship with other collectors and sellers. I have word from several others who plan to be there. The hotel is beautiful, hot breakfast included, hot tub, swimming pool, and off the beaten path but close to town. Several acclaimed locally owned restaurants within minutes (real Georgia BBQ, fresh seafood, etc...), close to the airport, I think we covered all the bases. The conference room is big and really nice, we are putting out flyers all over the place and plan to have a big crowd for the show. Come to my neck of the woods and experience South Georgia's southern hospitality. If you have questions or need anything, contact me. I plan to bring a pretty comprehensive set of examples from Heaton, Alley, Cairo, and other companies for show/study and some for sale. Some DAS marbles I participated in making, and dug material. Be there or be square
  12. Another I just ran across today coincidentally. The orange and structure looks familiar. It's being shown as a CAC cobra.
  13. I don't know enough about atmospheres to say. I'm not saying the OP is or isn't anything, just that I think it deserves a harder look before going to the vacor jar. Trying to point out things that might result in more thought and a stronger ID in the end, one way or the other.
  14. Sure is a tough one. The colors seem spot on but ?? The Vacors normally have a stream structure of two, three ribbons evenly spaced around the stream that stay pretty constant (not breaking and starting back up) from one end to the other, somewhat wirepull style. This one in the OP has way more than that and they start/stop in different places instead of at the beginning and end of the stream. You can see through the colors in the Vacor but the OP looks very opaque in the colors. When zoomed in, I see streams of fine bubbles following the flow of the glass. Not usually seen on Vacors, they are usually very clear with a few clear bubbles here and there but not tiny fizz trails. I only see the scorpion looking one being another possible Vacor in the group. Who knows, maybe this is just a messed up chipped Vacor. Is there any sign of orange peel? Maybe in hand it would be obvious. Loo at these cobras. Different looking but same colors, plus that white. The fizzy bubbles. The start-stop of the colors instead of continuous flow. It's enough to want to keep studying and hold the marbles out of the junk jar IMO. And for the best match, this one:
  15. Very similar to a sunflower in color, but there is white, and there are small bubbles. You can look at a Vacor sunflower and say, "yep, that's a Vacor", even if you've never seen the type, because it looks so much like a Vacor. This doesn't wave the Vacor flag for me.
  16. Not really, other than it's dark. I am assuming the color because of the rest of the marble, which reminds me of this type. This example doesn't match as well as some but it's the only photo I found on hand. But we've seen these types can vary from yellow ribbons to cream and tan color ribbons too. The wide flares at the end of the ribbons is common on these too, shown well in the 3rd pic.
  17. Sistersville Alley to me.
  18. And here are some of mine up close. The two in the top right of the group of skeletons are not. They are other black or almost black and white Alleys to show that the difference.
