"Thanks Ric" found it !! Mystery solved, looks like Atterbury made a dish or plate for almost everything, fish, bread, glasses, pitchers, etc... !!

I haven't a clue, I just bought it because it sparked my curiosity, makes more sense as a relish tray than an ashtray !! Thanks for the replies, now maybe I have a starting point

Your best marble display stand ideas
Chad G. replied to Chris Parson's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
A lighted stand I repurposed for larger mibs over 1 1/2" I cut out some foam to fit around top, made for a good lighted stand & also worked well for seeing any interior structure. I made a bunch of these, kinda like Christmas year round !! -
This "Boat Ashtray" has a few slight white swirls in it so maybe some form of slag glass. Looking for the manufacture ?? It says pickle on the bow & has a patent date of Feb. 17th 1874 on the bottom. Any opinion welcome, I am at a loss on this one ??

I took pix of this on from the top with the "seam" facing me & rolled it at 1/4 turn increments showing the top, middle & finally the bottom, running along te visible seam. The fold is similar to a "diaper fold" also has some MF traits ??Just looking for opinions, please if you have one, I've had this for years, no tail, Hmm ?? The marble is 11/16ths, wet mint, I can't even find any asmades. Top 1/4 turn Middle Bottom showing a fold just like the top

Oxblood August, It kind-of rhymes.

This one is over .75 @ .77 highly U.V. in between the Ade looking base & the Ace type. It doesn't really look yellow enough for custard glass either, the oxblood on this one is really thick. I'm not really sure what to call it, obviously Akro, as in any manufacture there are variants, here there & everywhere in between. -
Not yet !! I believe I was sleeping on Thursday ?? Just kidding, go for it Gina, we don't have anything I know of, an empty spot on the weekly !!

Looking at the green base glass & metalic on the outside you might have a "Jabo" marble Joep ?? Champion did make a lot of marbles with metalic in them but !! I just seen this same marble I.D. as Champion and the consensus was Jabo !!

Same mib shown in the sunlight and then indoors under a 5000k daylight bulb to eliminate the yellow light. -

Looks foreign to me ?? I'm not that great on cats though !! I think I see a bit of orange peel texture on the surface suggesting the possibility of a Vacor ??

Hello Art, No uv actually I lit it up from underneath so I'd have to say backlit with normal lighting, I've posted this marble many times and the consensus is being from the French drain, the olive base glass color is very similar to several marbles recovered from there. I knew it was Akro when I got it but the olive base glass threw me. Oxblood is on the surface, I though is was subsurface also but the ox does protrude a bit out from the base glass a bit in a couple areas, other than that a couple microscopic as made dimples, I can't even find a fleabite. I lit it up so the Akro construction was more visible, I thought it was a super muddy translucent for the longest time !! In hand the olive green color is very apparent when backlit. In regular lighting it appears to be a dark muddy base. I did try U.V. on it, very little to no reaction, maybe the muddy coloring, I haven't the slightest.
