  1. Thanks' Stephen, as always looking forward to your vids. !!
  2. Usually I don't find mine until I hear the familiar rattling popcorn machine sound coming from the vacuum. I have shag & just go under the furniture a bit with minimal movement, just as far as my little marble helpers can reach, I wonder if there jealous or really trying to start their own collection ?? Right now I'm missing a couple transparent red Pelt cats, so their tastes and collection value is coming up in the world, maybe someday "Tubby's" collection will be as good as mine ?? Don't be fooled by those innocent bulging eyes, there underneath lies the deceptive mind of a mib burglar !!
  3. You're welcome Bo, when you stumble on one like did you'll know it before you even uv. it They actually look like you know what !!
  4. Get a big un, they evaded me today !!
  5. Hello BO, back from fishing, yes mine does fluoresce under blacklight, not intensely but it does fluoresce. The opaque in this marble is a snotty yellowish brown color just like it's namesake (snot), this pic is little overexposed, so the colors area bit washed out, sorry about that !! and the late answer !! Thank you for your patience !!
  6. Mornin Bill, thanks for the pix, good memories for sure ........ !!! Goin fishin today, I'm outa here ........
  7. This ones a real killer !! ..............
  8. Yes the base glass comes in many other transparent colors, just like a slag, Christensen submarines are (Extremely rare) %& very expensive. They hardly ever come up for sale.
  9. Good one man !! Your top pic appears to be a Master, & I'm not positive on the second ?? Hang in there, you'll get there, wherever there is ?? Christensen Striped Transparent Transparent colored glass with stripes of opaque white or another opaque coloron or near the surface only. Examples of the opaque colors going inside the marble are called submarines and are very, very rare. Christensen Striped transparent Slags are a single stream of transparent glass with opaque white swirled in, on the surface and in almost every case inside the marble as well. Christensen double seam Slag Christensen Submarine (very, very rare) Once you hold one of these in your hand you'll never forget or mistake them again, the same with a striped transparent, though there are some German machine mades that come close, there is usually a much larger gap at the seams of the German made striped transparents or striped opaque's, alot to soak in I know but with your amount of enthusiasm you'll get there
  10. The base glass looks to be a kind of reddish amber color to me, not transparent clear, the link I posted is about the best info I can find on snotty's. Yours looks more like a W. Va. manufactured marble, ribbons & base are wrong & yes (horsehair) would definitely disqualify it as a snotty. Hopefully someone more well versed in Christensen will chime in, I'm at the end of my knowledge on this subject.
  11. A great discussion Bo, I'm not a Christensen expert either. From what I understand the opaque strands can be different colors but the base glass is always transparent colorless in a snotty, the base glass looks yellow in your pics , just wondering where the yellow is coming from ?? Pictured is mine, yes !! the opaque striations do fluoresce under uv. This one, the Alley doesn't fluoresce even a little, a transparent yellow base. Another snotty, pics & link courtesy of AAM LINK : https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27202&p=211937&hilit=Christensen+snotty#p211937

    Phew !!

Crazy man !! How do you take it !!
  13. Fingers is a term more commonly used in (8 finger Vitro marbles, different from cats) cats have vane and go by distinct names caged, banana, hybrid cat, etc. six vane, eight vane, 9 vane etc... 6 vein 8 vane Vitro 8 fingers Just a heads up, this link shows both Imperials & Vitro 8 fingers, hopefully this info helps ya out & will clear some thigs up a little for you. LINK : https://marbleconnection.com/topic/24001-imperial-or-vitro-8-fingers/ Just trying to eliminate any confusion, many collectors have nicknamed some marbles but certain hopefully "permanent" names have been given, some have changed & continue to change with time & I've found it takes almost continual monitoring to keep up.
  14. Yous looks very similar to an Alley I have with the yellow base glass & white swirls running in out & around it very similar to CAC except the color of the base glass & the thickness of the swirl structure. A beautiful marble, I had this with my CAC for a very long time before I realized my miss I.D. A lot of Alleys have been I.D. as CAC in the past, corals & flames just to mention a few, I'm still doing the shuffle just like everyone else. Maybe a little improvement as more and more provenance is revealed.
  15. Yes only one Pelt Rainbo this time, a nice variety here !! Good for further side by side I.D. practice., though there are variances in every manufacture, fear not you will get better at it quicker than you think, hang in there !!
  16. Ah 11 yes, can't wait to see your score, a couple bucks each is excellent !!
  17. I looked & looked William, just to satisfy my curiosity & keep you from getting taken to the bank. Nothing as you said, not even a close facsimile. I checked vintage, antique, Etsy, new, old sales, everywhere, notta !!
