You don't see this very often, a handmade ribbon core with floating mica in it. Took me a log time a a bit of rolling the marble around to make sure that it wasn't just another couple air bubbles to add to the myriad already in this mib but I was pleased to find out it was definitely mica, only a strip of it going from pole to pole on one side but it's definitely there .

Did anyone see this ....wow...🤑💰

This is the only one I could get to at short notice, ( too many folders to look through) probably the most posted one of them all & rated # 20 on the highest ever paid but never the less a birdcage. Another Morphy auction, this pic is a little old. Bill M. (mibcapper) might have a few pics of some layin around ?? it seems we were just talking about them a few months ago ?? -

This rarest color for a banded lutz "pink" was $25,429.oo in a 2014 or 32015 Morphy auction, condition was mint size 1.27" An Onionskin, right at 2" an Ebay auction, mint 9.7 - 8 with millefiori in it (one of a kind) $10,600.oo These things must have set on a mantle or in a box somewhere for well over a hundred years with no damage on top of being virtually impossible to find another like them, just like the first onionskin. I believe the highest $$ ever paid for a handmade was 28,000.oo last time it sold around 2014. (last pic) not for rarity but the perfect 3" size. The law of physics says a sphere that big with the viscosity of the glass is almost impossible to get or maintain the roundness of the sphere, so a true one in a million, sorry I don't have the auction pic but I an sure this is the marble. This is the 3 incher, sorry I don't have more pix but over time they were lost in the shuffle. Grateful I was able to save this one. -
I see a figure 8 in this pic !! Some are so close it's really hard to tell, just telling ya what I see. It would be pretty strange to get a whole load of figure 8's and only one pelt rainbo, especially living where you do. As Pelts of any kind are HTF there. Both 8's & rainbo's came in a multitude of colors so I would say you have to go on structure. Again many unanswered questions in this area, I'll just give my point of view and remain neutral, all perspective at this point, no provenance.

I might have started a thread like this before ?? Ah well, even if so we have many new members now, & some new mibs also, so start diggin !! I'm gonna try and post one at a time, but some of my pix may have multiples !!

Most arguments I see are between Germany, Europe & or Japan made, "I know" rather a wide stance on manufacturer. Who knows ?? Hopefully some day positive provenance on them will be found ?? I found a pic that I think represents this type rather well, Different sizes & colors, pic compliments of AAM. Realizing there are always exceptions, I have a few Rainbo's that are very close to the 8 configuration.

When I seen the first pic I believe I was thinking along te same lines as mibber, maybe an out of round whacked out silver surfer but to no avail, rats !!
-
Alleys are W.va.. swirls so you don't have to move the very far, maybe a little wouldn't hurt !!
-
I see all W.Va. swirls, some or all might be Alley as well.

Stick, log, board whatever as long as it's a Pelt !! I'll knock out the rest of my teeth so I have room for more !! Ok !! I'm ready !!

"Thanks Ron" just makin sure I wasn't having a flashback or something, just intercepted the sale, saved a good friend a few $$

I was Emailed some pix of a bag for I.D. & approximate value. "I' looked at them & seen some iridescent mibs & cats with the packaging being made in Hong Kong. My evaluation is most if not all vacor taken from one of many sources as printed on the label & value of maybe $5.00, all new no older than 15 years. Here's the pix, other opinions are welcome, please !!

A friend of mine called (Double Ingot) marbles "double eggnot ' I couldn't figure out what in the world he was talking about till he showed me some of his double ingots................ "Double Eggnot" Oh brother !!!

When I go I always show early for the (in room trading) say the show is Saturday but in room trading starts Thursday. I get there as soon as possible to meet everyone and get first crack at some of the better mibs. I have never stayed for the day of the show so don't really know but common sense would tell me that the mibs have already had a good going over by the time show day gets there. I'd rather negotiate with one person than five, just my personal take !!
