  1. Yes they are fractured, I was thinking fried but I don't see the usual rainbow of colors in the fracture from the heat. So yes they are broken, watch out for pieces falling off, separate them from your other mibs so they don't scratch them. If I where you I would toss them.
  2. Here's a load, by the time I'm done I'm not sure about the fun part ?? But there is a need to know so here goes. Some are shown with uv light and some both, but trust me these are all highly uv reactive. 3. 1" blue glass and 9/16ths red glass, manufacture, no idea caged cross through, Japanese cross through, Japanese
  4. Call it a prize name, the size is no relevance unless you have a rare one like a Jolly Roger, Given a specialized name by collectors for it's rarity and great size. This is Bill MCcaleb's ( mibcapper ) marble at 1 1/4" a whopper, 99% of the time this particular marble always has the orange peel surface which is sought after more than the smooth one. You can see more pics of it on the( HTF prize/2 colors) thread right here on MC. "Orange peel" a perfect name for the surface, looks just like one. I could almost eat it yummy !!! Wish you had a rare one Bonnie, but still a keeper, those big ones always got played with more, so finding one with a mint surface like that is a chore in itself. Different variations of a color are still that color just a different shade, so yes as Steph said a 2 color (prize name) I agree 100% with Steph.
  5. You will find every kind of variation possible in cats, the vitro multi color are my favorites and this is one of the few cats I've kept, now they are coming up in $$ I used to have thousands, had to get rid of them, to many I was walking on marbles. Yes cats are beautiful, when the Asians flooded the marble market with them that's all anybody wanted was "cat eyes" When I talk to new collectors or people asking what do I have the first thing I inevitably hear is "what are they cat eyes" or "what do you have cat eyes" I know many seasoned collectors that collect cat eyes. It's all perspective. In the " eye " of the beholder as it were !! If you get any good size quantity of cat eyes you will find every variation imaginable.
  6. The 4 new pics are indeed what you have been looking for, an MFC white brick unless there is a little green in there then a green brick $$. The green is most likely alley, of course the akro super man, and as Ron said an akro oxblood, and a couple more alley, the yellow and white may be akro uv. swirl or a cork I can't tell from the pic. Take some individual closeups pf the ones you aren't sure of, yes !! a really great bunch this time Wish I could stumble on this type of mibs every day.
  7. Looks like at least 2 or 3 MF bricks this time?? and the cased clambroth there is a very sought after type i have a few of them, usually smaller, 9/16ths- 19/32nds, you're sure stumblin in on some good mibs this time Anxious for some more pix, th green one looks good from here to. I think you finally hit Gold on the bricks though?? maybe MF to boot??
  8. very refreshing looking mibs, nice and clean, Talk about color correctness, great find, almost identical color, probably not to far apart coming out of the machine Jess !!
  9. Yes Stephen I often watch your videos just for little tidbits here and there and because I just like everything marble Your very welcome !! Chad G.
  10. AH !! Another great video Stephen. Ravenswood is the hardest one for me to make I.D.'s . I never collected them and any I had came in lots I bought. The packaging however is another story. I'm familiar with most and know what to look out for, this video filled in most of the blanks for me and answered many questions I had remaining on age and authenticity. Thank you for all the time and effort you both put into these clips. Invaluable information and a must see for any collector, old or new. A big and a job well done, Thank you again !! Regards, Chad G.
  11. Yes, these were taken at 1:00 in the afternoon this summer with a cheap handy cam set on macro, I love the sunlight for marble pics.
  12. I found the different colored lace pics I was talking about, here's the pic
  13. "Thank you" Al for all the info, I just seen some pics of what people are calling a pink and a lavender lace also, they have the amber base with a kind of striped transparent look but only half the outside of the marble had color coverage, many different variations as in any marble. Again thank you for the pics and invaluable info Al. I'll try to find and post those I found of other external colors, I guess the amber base is the only common denominator in being considered in the lace family. Not a lot around I know because of the fracturing problems. I was talking to nantucketdink ( Dink ) earlier about Jabo and I guess the first pics I've presented would be one of what he called a dud. A substandard example, a lace marble yes, a good example, no, never the less from what I'm hearing so far it is a lace. The large pic with the striped transparent look should be the poster child for this marble, what a killer mib
  14. What a killer Al, great mib
  15. Hello Steph, I was recently introduced to Jabo, I was aware but never owned any. Well the bug bit it bit hard, now all I can think on is the next run and how I'm going to acquire every marble that goes with it. A friend sent me a couple examples of every marble from the 2009 joker ll run, a pretty good sized box. At first I thought Oook!! now where do I go, well the where to just keeps going and from the sounds of it and the thousands of different mibs Jabo produced I probably will never catch up but its gonna be a great ride on the way. Many newer memories and many more ones to come I'm sure. "Thanks for posting Steph"
  16. I thought I had a pic of one but can't find it, Oh well I like these so I kept em. The biggest one on the left has the same surface as yours does Jess, 3rd one from L to R is polished the other two are untouched.
  17. I know I have this bug bite that's been itching me for over 30 years the only thing that relives the itch is to rub some fresh marbles on it, a very strange affliction with an even stranger cure their also seems to be some kind of weird addictive behavior that goes along with it. Maybe make another post and open another Thank you for the kind words I wonder just how many emojis I can use in one post
  18. I'm getting a little low on Akro, another couple weeks and I'll have to buy some new marbles. Maybe it was in the ground a long time, Where did you get it, either that or dirty rollers can also make that streaking effect along the flow of the glass, or!! the glass was a little cold. In any case A great Akro I'll bet you that's just the same way it left the factory minus the pocket wear, I've had several supermen with that same surface. Glad you like the other corks Jess Chad
  19. A little late but still some snakes to wake you up.
  20. The colors are what I'm riding on, there is no real classic CAC lace pattern in the mib above, ribbon or swirled cut line. I do have an Ebay auction pic from this year here, the colors are quite correct and also the only mib I can think of with that powder blue on top of an amber base. This ones a beauty but if I remember right it had a very extensive fracture, thus the low price. Generally I believe these are a couple hun. at least for a really nice one without fractures, supposedly most where also small, around 19/32 like the mib pictured above. So I guess this is a bigger example at 5/8ths. I'm looking at both pics and the colors do look spot on. Thanks for chiming in Steph !!
  21. Up all night, bored waited till after midnight and made the other post. Yes a little pocket wear but still beautiful mibs Jess !! Some specials. GOTTA HAVE SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
