  1. A bunch of manufacturers made clearies =, as far as I.D. for these someone else will pick up the slack !!
  2. Akro slag, a couple more colors and you'll have the whole family. Nice!!
  3. Nearly all companies made gaming marbles @ one time or another, from what I gather Bruce also pics of 2 different mibs ?? here's a gamer I held onto from Alley's early beginnings. I call an Alley monochrome ( Def. two different shades of the same color ) I would like to make a guess on yours but need pics of both seems on either side of one mib to get a good idea, many I've found I couldn't I.D. no traits distinctive of the maker, master gaming marbles are probably the easiest for me to pick out, Yes I've gone through thousand's of them also, very enjoyable but extremely hard on the back. Found some goodies though !!
  4. Great German's De Roberto, I was beginning to think I was the only one that still collected them. Excellent marbles every one , appreciate the pics, I started collecting German hand mades in the 90's the prices then where considerably more but I was and still am fascinated by them. "Good post" The clown is outstanding, not an easy one to find in any shape.
  5. You're very welcome. An excellent group Your avatar looks like it's alive, you certainly picked a good one, great benny.

SOLVED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Better to throw out your best guess and be wrong than not to learn anything @ all, nothing ventured nothing gained. Besides when you miss you never forget it, @ least in my case anyway. Those book's also have an alluring power, one is never enough !! One of my favorite all around I.D. books is marble mania by the late Stanley block, good pics and realistic prices. A big hard cover book has paid for itself many times over for me, Baumann also makes an excellent I.D and price guide book. This one has a mix old hand mades, machine mades, packaging a little of everything, and some excellent pics.
  9. I don't know why any nobody collects old German mibs any more, I love em, Thank you for the pics again !!
  10. Nice "bug's" Chuck, thanks for steppin up w/ the info, great pics, appreciate it every bit !! Ah I see the little fold look's like the tail end of a tater bug when it's rolled up, gotcha
  11. I knew it was comin, no cuts, sorry for the mislead I tried, and I thought I was good @ alley I.D. !!! , I must need glasses reeeel bad !! pls. excuse the mislead !!
  12. Thanks Steph. the smaller the better and they do make them 1 size smaller, I don't have any " yet " vhtf
  13. MMMMM I love them hand mades, not sure where the affinity has gone but it sure hasn't left me. Nice pics, thank you !! The 2 lutze's and the baby onion skin got me
  14. Finally I made it through an I.D. without a mistake, what a relief. Need to go w/ my first intuition and quit second guessing myself.
  15. Good job !!! if you want a smiley face look just above your text before you submit your reply, there's a pic of a smiley face, left click on the face, the emoji menu will pop up in a sec. or two, scroll up and down until you find the one you want, a couple 100 or so of them so be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom, it will stop you when you reach the bottom, when you find the one you like (L) click once on it ,the emoji menu will disappear and the emoji will appear where you left off w/ your text, submit your reply and you're done A couple try's and will become old hat, Have fun !!
  16. Made by Alley and a little on the rare side, @ least as far as me getting ahold of any. Adopted collectors name's "lady taters " ,"tater bug's " Steph has a good selection as well as Ron S. He posted a pic of one of his good one's somewhere in here I forget where, a bit confusing I.D. ing them @ first as w/ alot of W.Va. mibs. and I'm an Alley freak. I'm an in hand man pictures can be misleading for me. Ron could probably tell ya in a flat second where the name came from and all the other detail's as well. I'm having enough trouble as is, I'll put out my best guess, if I have no idea I'll just wait for someone who does, I've been wrong before and more than likely will be again, nothing ventured nothing gained !! great deal putting it out there Bruce
  17. The one on the right look's to be Christensen, the left not positive, actually not 100% on either but pretty sure about the one on the right, get a good second on this one. They're most likely both Christensen the only reason I hesitate is the colors on the (L) don't pop like the ones on the right, Christensen color's popped more than almost any marble in the time, they had their own glass recipe and more than one divulgement over it. The color's will stand out ( pop ) more than almost any marble of the same time period. These most definitely are not Akro of that I am sure. If any one has something to add I'm here to learn, just part of the never ending curve. Thanks for the pics !! Chad G.
  18. And here I sit w/o even 1, don't figure !! Nice one's, thanks for the pics !!
  19. Purple, blue, white are Akro slag's, the white base w/ orange type flame tip's Alley maybe W. Va. swirl, red and yellow maybe vacor (not sure )
  20. Yes an Alley flame, Good one very nice !! Alley's are probably one of the most diversified marble type's you'll run into. As far as that goes W, Va. in general.
  21. Wait Bill or we'll both miss the bus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even have a cell, wouldn't even know how to turn it on, space monster's the word.
  22. Think maybe that's why Roberto has it for his avatar, I've only seen like 2 and not near the pink his has on it, a very nice benny for sure.
  23. Agreed , I've seen some German mibs before polishing that you couldn't tell what was inside. After polishing quite the surprise awaits, the people in Olympia I know purchased all kind's of old German mibs for a mere pittance and came out with some of the rarest one's I've ever seen, and made a pretty penny @ the same time, I messaged another digger and polisher from Clarksburg W. Va., same no longer polishing for other's, Very seldom you come upon one you wat polished, either for sentimental or monetary reason's but the good polisher's seem to have all passed or quit. Kolieclify has always had a huge amount of Akro, with several one of a kind dug examples, never bought from him but enjoyed looking @ his mibs. I've seen 3 or 4 machines for sale over the past few years, getting one is one thing, getting good @ polishing it is another !!
  24. Your avatar is great Roberto not that common to find pink on a fancy b., aggies are one of my fave's, little destroyer's, you can tell if a steelie has ever hit one or if an aggie has hit a glass mib. Thank you for sharing Roberto, nice mibs !!
