  1. I believe that you are right on. Marble--On!!
  2. I worked on #3 with my editor. I think that you may have a Purple slag there. Backlight it and show it again. #4??? Marble--On!!
  3. Both are pelts again Leigh--nice ones. MCS I think. More opinions are always welcomed. Marble--On!!
  4. That is a good question for sure--about the patch thing anyhow there are no slags from Master that I am aware of. I have always thought of Masters as patch types. Marble--On!!
  5. I appreciate all that has been said but a “Hybrid Popeye” is what it is. A collectors and sellers term that has been around too long to change. The original posted marble is a Hybrid Popeye. Nice marble! I feel your pain jhomer2172, Google is translating mm to inches for me all of the time. Marble—On!!
  6. I love this color combo and will be interested to find out who made them. Marble--On!!
  7. Hello Leigh, The four on the right are Pelt MCS or multi colored swirls imho. This color combo will show up with oxblood such as the one that you show, an added bonus for sure. The one on the left is a Pelt for sure but I will leave that one to the Pelt experts, I believe that it has a collectors name—they are all very nice marbles. As always more opinions are welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!
  8. Well there are some that we do not see very often, maybe never before😀. Thanks for sharing them Mojo. Nice marbles for sure. Marble—On!!
  9. Lets not forget that Akro started with slags, hand gathered and machine made. Some Akro Agate slags will show "tails". I know--Buzzkill--just like you know who. Marble--On!!
  10. Steph, I looked with my image editor again and I am still convinced. If Mothra had not backlit this one I would agree with you. It is quite a nice Agate though with a really cool and different pattern. The weirdo that I am, backlighting everything, I recognized the hits. Many “Mint” Hand-cut Agates will reveal themselves if back lit. I personally prefer the ones that have been used; mint is not always the best in my arena. Thanks and Marble On!!
  11. I agree and hesitate to explain how it was done. If anyone needs an explanation--show your ID. Only for those over—well 90 with safety glasses guaranteed😇. Marble—On!!
  12. I can roll with CAC on this one and I am dissapointed that I missed it. So an Ohio Swirl not a WVS😁. Nice marble! Marble--On!!
  13. #23 is an Agate (stone) and I love how you backlit it. Judging by the hit marks it probably will display some faceting, thus a “Hand cut Faceted Agate”. If you folks have never backlit an Agate like this, try it, it is just another cool way to check these out. Oops # 35 looks like another one! Nice marbles! Marble—On!!
  14. Hmmm, I will go CAC on this one. More opinions are needed and welcomed. Marble--On!!
  15. This one is a WVS in my opinion, who made it? More opinions are needed for sure😁 Marble--On!!

    Vacor

Hey Mojo, The closest that I can find is “Stegosaurus 2”, Also packaged as “Pterodactylus” and “Dinosaur” according to the Vacor website. The Stegosaurus without the 2 is gray based with white swirls. Yours are very nice lookers. Marble—On!!
  17. Imperial was out of California and I do not doubt that they as “jobbers” purchased what they could for the lowest cost. Perhaps when Vitro operations out of Washington ceased, they purchased a trainload or two. This is Just a guess. I cannot imagine another scenario. Cheap is good for jobbers. MK must have made a very good deal. Imperial packaged marbles from many outlets/countries. The truth is not always in the print on the packages. Marble--On!!
  18. Or possibly, One of my favorites---The “Van Gogh”. Nice marble regardless. It is hard to find this size without major folds involved. Marble—On!!
  19. We will refer to these as Chinese but they are being made in India as well as a few other places on earth. Get used to the patterns and ignore the colors, they come in quite a variety. Torch made, machine made, handmade, etc. We are getting flooded with this type. There were a few posts regarding “German Handmade” marbles earlier in the week that were questionable. Do not put anything past what the Chinese will do to sell a product. Keep your eyes open and question everything that you see. I happen to like them, not what these sellers do to try to rip off the newer collector---just the marbles and what I know that it takes to make them, the people/folks themselves working at low wages and suffering to make ends meet. I will collect them!! Marble—On!!
  20. That is a Killer size and a very, very nice marble William. Marble--On!!
  21. I will pay ten bucks for any mayonnaise jar full of marbles Mothra. Just as Steph says here, it is a common thing to find a mix of old and new today. This is what the uninformed seller as well as the informed seller will do to get a sale. They get a few here and a few there mix them together and hope for the best. This is why we continue to try to be informed, to distinguish the uninformed seller from the informed when it comes to a jar/bag/lot/single sale of marbles at least. I was just last week at a junk dealers place that told me he would not show me any marbles because he did not know enough about them and he knew that they could be worth many dollars. He had them “all at the house” waiting for his marble “guy”. The next day he posted a jar of marbles on his face-book page. What’s-up with that? I will go back once again and offer to be his “marble guy”. I have enough marbles really, and offered to give him estimation’s with no sales or offers. (I will take pictures) I feel a trap—LOL. Marble traps are a good thing! I left there feeling that he trusted me more than when I first arrived at least. I just love looking now, really I do. I have plenty of time to estimate value for the less informed. I must not have a trusted face when it comes to being a “marble guy”. I am a Minnie Step---I just love research, on all marbles, old, new and in-between. I love this stuff! We all do! Keep posting and continue to, Marble—On!!!
  22. Welcome Mothra, Your marble does kinda look like a "green onion"😁 and I agree with Chad that it is a foreign made example. There have been discussions in the marble world as to whether or not Master Marble and others were trying to make marbles that resembled hand-made onion skins so you are not far off from that same thinking. Keep posting, we all love this stuff! Marble—On!!!
  23. Patches can be a tough thing to ID sometimes for sure. I think that it is an Akro. More opinions are always welcomed. Marble--On!!
  24. This one looks like a CAC to me. More opinions are always welcomed and needed. Marble--On!!
