  1. Great job--The one on the right needs to be lit up--UV lit up I mean----- Tell us how you did this--- Ringer---on and Popeye on as well!!!
  2. I have noticed the same thing not only with agates but with German handmades as well. The hobby is getting a boost from Covid no doubt--I try to stay positive--lol. It may be time for a nice "Hand Faceted Agate" post. I really dig at the ones with multiple hits, how many Akros did those things destroy? Bring it on and Marble--On As well!!!
  3. Great way to think out of the box Bruce---they do come in different scents however. Mint would be my fave. Minty fresh Marbles--On!!
  4. Well this one is different. I would like to see a few shots in the sunlight just to get an idea of the colors, try a darker backgound. I operate from a PC and was unable to correct the image for colors. I think that some are hiding. The third image has a different seam or "new to me" at least. Well worth another look or several. Marble--On!!!

    Pelts?

You might just have a nice rare one there. I do not think that the big one is a Pelt, my first impression is an MK. They may both go by the same name however. Gets us some more images showing all sides and some nice shots of the color. These are worth multiple looks and opinions. If you redo the title to something like----Copperheads? You may get some more responses quick. I cannot call them but I sure can try to help with getting more attention for these two. Nice ones for sure. Marble--On!!
  6. The way that the cutoffs do not quite seal into the glass points me to Marble King. You can almost feel the seams with your fingernail. I have found this to be a common thing with MK marbles and the cutoff marks look right as well. More input is needed on this one. The green AV shows up in the green colors in marbles of all makers. This could be a topic on it’s own. I have a few Olive Drab/White Akro corks that have a little AV in the green and they are the rarest company to exhibit AV in their glass. Marble—On!!!

    Woody?

OP ID Opie Taylor is a 6-year-old from Mayberry, North Carolina. He is the main reason that we find marbles in the middle of corn fields.
  8. For rust, this stuff is the best that I have used. No scratches or dull surface from this stuff. Get the finest grit that you can. A little goes a long way. A damp Micro cloth with a tad of this stuff. The bonus is a nice minty smelling marble. Rust--Off!! and Marble--On!!! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z7J0SL0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. They are still out there---a recent acquisition. They are all really “Killers” The second image shows some "What ,are you Kidding" marbles. Sorry for the images once again because it seems that Akro Friday always is overcast here in Wisconsin—four weeks in a row at least. Marble—On ---and keep the Hunt --on as well!!!
  10. No problem, Chad, amongst others will generally keep me straight. I will always be here to give input and keep the great ID’s going to the end. I will always call them as I see them, always hoping for a rebuttal. It is just a great marble to look at regardless. If I can help to get these things I’d I will try my best to keep them active. I have no ego when it comes to Identifying marbles and I always hope for the best. Chad called this one right IMHO--great job once again. Marble—On ---for sure!!!
  11. Chad nailed this one----Great job , Hats off-- a really great marble--- from a "dug" to a "Killer" this is the best place on earth to get an ID Marble--On!!!
  12. Mauve-- I can ride with Mauve--lol. There is literally no color that cannot be attributed to Akro Agate, The King of colors. These are old—very old, Prize-name marbles that will be found in 100 count boxes in rows of ten.
  13. I agree--not MK, Not Master, Not Vitro. The colors look Akro or Peltier to me. The size, yellow color and cutlines leans towards Akro but Pelt made some nice big ones too. The digs have come up with some pretty awesome marbles. Show the cutlines in some more images and prove us both wrong-lol. Marble--On!!
  14. The first marbles that I ever purchased were from a very old lot of extremely old vintage things of a various nature, most of what I recognized as being very old and vintage. It was at an estate sale held in old outback buildings that were covered in dust. Turns out that they were old Vacor "Galaxy" types---yes, I thought that they may have been "Guineas". This was about 30 years ago. This started my research into what may or may not be. I am sure that all on this board have had similar experiences. Research, Research, Research. Great job asking, you are always right to question any sale. Marble--On!!!
  15. At one inch that is one crazy looking marble. The first image looks like a Pelt, the second looks like a Vacor, the third looks Pelt again, the last looks like an Akro. If it was 5/8" I would say Peltier. More input needed for sure. Nice one--Marble--On!!!

    Woody?

I hate to disagree with the ID on the OP but I call them like I see them. I would sort it as a Jabo. No woodness there. Marble--On!!!
  17. The first one is a Peltier as Chad has said---not quite a Red Zebra but a nice large one-- non the less--- Not a Bloodie because of the opaque-ness of the white. The last one is a Vacor. The others may be one of many. Marble--On !!
  18. This is another tuff one. I would sort it as an Akro Patch or a corkscrew that did not twist --- just because of the colors. More input is needed on this one. Marble--On!!
  19. I am responding just to respond. It is a "pretty nice--one " whatever it may be. The clear glass looks vintage and "well cooked" to me. Vitro would not be my first choice on this one. It may be a Pelt. More input is needed for sure. Marble--On!!
  20. Do not fool yourself; this is the place to be regardless of any others on any other site. Post and be rewarded with the very best opinions of your marbles that any place on this planet will provide. The amount of time that this post board has been one the web speaks volumes. The people that are committed to this site are the very best that you will ever meet or talk to person to person. There is no drama here, only the very best opinions of what may be or may not be. Marbles and other glass items are always regarded with the expertise that you may expect from any high end or newbie collector that is willing to share the opinions that they have learned from the experience and research that they have acquired over the years. I have been collecting marbles for over 25 years and still learn much from this site. I will continue to support this site with posts and any cash that will help to keep it alive. It is the best, bar none. Marble---on--- and support on as well!!
  21. I am still in the experimental stage. I will try anything to get a good image. My best tool is a light box that I built years ago. Simply a box with a hole and a light shining up below it. I used it for ID purposes at first but it sure comes in handy when trying to backlight a marble for an image.
  22. Akro then Master Marble. Just because I like to collect boxes. Both companies made some nice boxes that are not so high dollar. If I just went with marbles and I was not so box crazy I would go Akro, Peltier, just too hard to beat the colors with these two. I am showing a recent backfill of an Akro 230 box that I purchased empty, the dividers are my thing--it just keeps them in line better. The pouch is probably a Master Glass bag that they filled these boxes with after they purchased Akro. As always--more research needed. I love this stuff. The Master Marble #6 box is a recent purchase that needs a little work. Marble--On!!
  23. Oh-Oh some body dropped their wedding ring into the furnace.

    Cairo?

Thanks for all of the input. Lets revisit this one just to make sure. The blue is not opaque as shown in the following images. I backlit the images on a light board. Thanks for taking another look. Marble--On!!!
