  1. Thanks for the response. As Steph alluded to, information, etc. has changed as marble collectors delve more deeply into marble history. I've seen that in the short 13 years or so that I have been collecting.
  2. I'm curious about the information on the left page that says Champion Agate sold these type of marbles in Champion Jr. bags. I have not heard that before. I had always associated the Champion Jr. bags with Peltier or maybe Berry Pink with his jobber type bags. I'm talking about the orange/white "checkerboard" type headers. Peltier also used the term "Champion Jr." on many of their other headers on polybags, etc. I have never seen any Champion Agate made marbles in any bags with the name Champion Jr. in the header. I don't recall Champion Agate ever making marbles that look like the "Onyx" and Rainbos pictured. Please clarify.
  3. Top row left looks like cage style Vitro; top row middle looks foreign; top row each side of middle looks Vitro but hard to tell from one view. 2nd row down - left looks like Vitro hybrid; next one looks like hybrid Vitro horseshoe type cat; next looks like a Vitro hybrid and right one is cage style but looks more foreign than Vitro? Middle row - left two look like Vitro hybrids; middle is Japanese 3-way crossthrough; right two are hard to tell. 4th row down, those 1st 3 I have seen before (maybe from you) but cna't remember - maybe Bogard or Master? right one looks like foreign black cat but also could be a CE Bogard. Bottom row- MK lavendar cat's. All IMHO. Nice variety, Chuck.
  4. The first one does belong in the "health" class in high school - LOL! That and the other two talked about above are the oddities you find in cat's-eyes and are cool to collect. Your 3-way cross thru is a regular type run - usually Japanese - but a definitely harder to find type. The values used to be up to $10 for a mint one but more and more have been found as more cat's-eye collectors start so, at shows, you're lucky to get a buck or two. There are a variety of colors in those. Here's a pic of some (not my pic but I have several of those).
  5. Neat marbles - there are a few in there that would pass for Champion Furnace marbles (hey, that's where Dave used to make those...)
  6. Great bag, especially with those marbles! I have a bag like that but not with marbles like that...
  7. Interesting article - if you store glass dishes in an unheated space - you may want to read this (not all glass but interesting theory).
  8. My thoughts also as I think Berry Pink used the term/name "Marble King" long before the company was formed.
  9. Here is the other bag that I have. It has 6 Japanese style cat's-eyes in it with "Japan" name on reverse also.
  10. Here is the odd bag. Look at the wording in the lower right corner of the reverse side of the header.....
  11. Unusual marbles in that bag but I have seen sometimes that they picture different marbles in the bag than are found in real life. Vitro did that also. Here is my bag with the similar header and some swirls - probably Alley but look a little different. Check out my next post if you want to see an odd MK bag.
  12. This is a marble related post as the lady in the pic is Diane Brandstetter who does a lot of volunteer work with an exotic pet rescue center of which Zoe is one of her feline friends. Great work by the center and Diane and I would love to have Zoe watching my property - beautiful cat!
  13. Great tree, duffy, and Merry Christmas to alllllllllllll
  14. That egg nog ice cream can really get you in the holiday spirit....
  15. I'm thinking of hiring a couple of these security guards. They are well known in some parts of the marble collecting community...
  16. Guesses - 2nd row down - left and 3rd from left and bottom row - middle one.
  17. Regarding the woody - hard to tell from one view but it does not look like a Peltier. Here are a couple pics- one by chuck in 2007 (which looks like the best example to me) and crappieman (multipic).which may fit but...? I definitely don't know for sure what a woody is with Peltier but these come the closest. There's one on Peltiermarbles site but it is even more different.
  18. My thought on the "spangled" ones, as far as keeping with traditional names, is that they are micas.
  19. Yup, cool ones! I remember when Guy posted some pics of his bifurcated ones many years back - neat ones to look for.
  20. Here's some pics that I have (not my boxes).
  21. That is a neat one. Patry had a couple that were similar but I haven't seen very many.
  22. I don't think there is any problem posting a link. I think they might prefer it in the buy/sell forum but since this thread was originally about hte marble before you decided to sell it, this is the best palce for the link. The mnore PR, hopefully the higher the price for you.
