  1. Interesting article - if you store glass dishes in an unheated space - you may want to read this (not all glass but interesting theory).
  2. My thoughts also as I think Berry Pink used the term/name "Marble King" long before the company was formed.
  3. Here is the other bag that I have. It has 6 Japanese style cat's-eyes in it with "Japan" name on reverse also.
  4. Here is the odd bag. Look at the wording in the lower right corner of the reverse side of the header.....
  5. Unusual marbles in that bag but I have seen sometimes that they picture different marbles in the bag than are found in real life. Vitro did that also. Here is my bag with the similar header and some swirls - probably Alley but look a little different. Check out my next post if you want to see an odd MK bag.
  6. This is a marble related post as the lady in the pic is Diane Brandstetter who does a lot of volunteer work with an exotic pet rescue center of which Zoe is one of her feline friends. Great work by the center and Diane and I would love to have Zoe watching my property - beautiful cat!
  7. Great tree, duffy, and Merry Christmas to alllllllllllll
  8. That egg nog ice cream can really get you in the holiday spirit....
  9. I'm thinking of hiring a couple of these security guards. They are well known in some parts of the marble collecting community...
  10. Guesses - 2nd row down - left and 3rd from left and bottom row - middle one.
  11. Regarding the woody - hard to tell from one view but it does not look like a Peltier. Here are a couple pics- one by chuck in 2007 (which looks like the best example to me) and crappieman (multipic).which may fit but...? I definitely don't know for sure what a woody is with Peltier but these come the closest. There's one on Peltiermarbles site but it is even more different.
  12. My thought on the "spangled" ones, as far as keeping with traditional names, is that they are micas.
  13. Yup, cool ones! I remember when Guy posted some pics of his bifurcated ones many years back - neat ones to look for.
  14. Here's some pics that I have (not my boxes).
  15. That is a neat one. Patry had a couple that were similar but I haven't seen very many.
  16. I don't think there is any problem posting a link. I think they might prefer it in the buy/sell forum but since this thread was originally about hte marble before you decided to sell it, this is the best palce for the link. The mnore PR, hopefully the higher the price for you.
  17. And, as most "crooked" eBay'ers do it - "salt" each one with a beat up Peltier NLR or CAC.... Otherwise, I think Catfish has the right idea.
  18. Also, the person with the high bid may have bid $15,000 but since no one exceeded $9,900 besides them, that is the highest bid that registers. Although one thing I have not checked on for a while is eBay's procedure when there is a reserve. Maybe if the person had bid above the reserve, it would reflect the next increment above the reserve as their bid...?
  19. There are shows - was just one in Decatur, IL. There is a forum on marble shows on the home page in this site. Doesn't go too far ahead.
  20. Thanks for following up on that, Jill, and letting us know the results.
  21. Neat marble. Not sure of value but with no white showing, I would think it would be of interest and might bring good money if auctioned. In the left picture, I see some oxblood striping on the right side.
  22. I had heard about them a few months back and emailed someone but the info was different than what is on this site. I think there was not a choice of marbles to be placed in bag and they might end up with many of the same ones - can't remmeber for sure but I did not pursue it then. Now there is this link which shows 2 bags at $25 or $50 each and shipping is $10+ range so ....? haven't made up my mind yet.
