  1. Scott - great thoughts. It'd be nice if there was a museum that would step up on a permanent display area/room for marbles. I know they would get a lot of interest. By the way, why did the museum not continue with Cathy's collection? I think they had told her that they didn't want it any more. Now they have changed their mind?
  2. You are talking about diameter size and not circumference - right?
  3. I assume you mean the Museum of Glass in Weston? What did they say about the marble displays when you asked them?

    Newbie

Posting pictures with a few different views of a few marbles at a time is a good start.
  5. No name that I am aware of. Chocolate Oxblood does not seem to fit, of course.

Weak Akro slag would be my guess

    ??Not sure

Looks like a cage style cat's-eye - not much value - two-bits or so.
  9. Brace for the weather Bob - does not sound good in your area.
  10. Peltier Rainbos with a little 'bleeding' between the ribbons on the one.
  11. By the way, newer MK's would have a patch on both poles, not just one. I still think an odd Tiger Eye (or maybe an odd bullseye?)
  12. I think there might be more of the New Old Fashioned types out there thanthe few we normally see. Here is a picture of some that might come close to yours. This picture was posted back in 2000 time frame.
  13. Page 61, Stan Block's Sulphide Marbles book - "Lion holding a pole" - looks identical

Patches like this are tough. I think Akro might even fit but...?
