Sad to hear. He mentioned some health problems when I talked with him at the Orange County Show in March. He was a great guy, champion weightlifter and had a variety of marbles. Condolences to his family.

Al Oregon replied to MC Marbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The one I start my specific search for is under "Toys & Hobbies" - "Marbles" and has 17,508 listings -

Newbie learning about marble bags
Al Oregon replied to ManofKent's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
These "jobber" boxes were filled with a variety of marbles - a lot of time Champions but you find other ones in there also. No specific company name tied to this box as I recall. -
That atmosphere bag is a good one for your category - definitely hard to find. Along the Vacor lines, for marble bags sold in the US, Qualatex was the predecessor company to Mega in marketing Vacors in the US. Their bags are definitely harder to find. What makes people overlook them (from a bag collectors' standpoint) is that their headers look just like the first style of Mega bag headers - basically Mega used Qualatex's style and changed the logo. In the upper leftt portion of the front of the header on these pictures, you will see the Qualatex logo instead of the more common Mega logo. The two types of marbles here - Glitter and Assorted Stelaris are definitely harder to find - 90's time frame

Steph is on point - hard to tell when MK Cat's were made. You can find a variety of MK's in those Peltier bags - cat's and even Rainbows. -

They just "pushed" them out in bulk like the ones you show above. There are some sketchy Mr. Peanuts bags. If they are Alley swirls, very good likelihood of being legit. If they are older MK's with a BB or CS, same answer. If they have "Play the Game, Be Fair...." on the reverse, they are most likely legit. If they have "Play the Square...", that's where you have to look at the marbles and for the seam on the bag - that's where there may be some fakes. Those Buddy bags look good to me. -
Peltier Multicolor Rainbo in upper right. Multicolor swirl in upper left and maybe bottom.

By the way, be careful, about 90% of the marble bags that you see listed on eBay are fantasy/fake bags. Of course, they have real marbles but they are newer ones compared to the purported dates that they say the bags were made.

That's a machine made "Fiesta" marble made by Vacor in Mexico and marketed in the US under the Mega Marbles brand.

Reminds me of marblealan's parrots.

Found some unusual ones in acquired lot

You can check the "poles" or "ends" and see if you can see initials engraved into the marble. That can help determine which individual contemporary maker made it. Also, what size is it? -
Have you seen one of these before?

Agreed on box being the same. I'm looking forward to George's book (and any new marble book)! -
