    Marble Extras

Looking at the threaded mounting bolt and the precise marble holding features on the 4-pack make me think the may have been a replacement set of sorts when the originals wore out. For what I have no idea. The furniture legs usually have mounts that surround the legs for support.
  3. I am not so sure about that. The Vacor serpents are fooling folks every day thinking they might be Pelts. They are only worth pennies.
  4. Glad your happy, I wonder how those newbies are going to feel in 5 or 10 years when they think they have found some rare vintage marbles in a group from ebay they paid big money for then find out they are latter Jabos worth 50 cents or so??. Just a silly thought.
  5. It is very wise for someone to make sure they have facts before accusing individuals of something they do not know for sure. It is called hearsay and spreading it is something usually done by old ladies at the bridge table. Some folks get taken to court for less.
  6. Pretty marbles, Who is signing them?, I can't help but notice the move towards making them look more vintage. Can't wait to read the boards 5 years from now. ID Question: I just bought a group at an antique store(substitute Ebay)because it had this beautiful looking marble in it. I paid pretty good money for the group. I hope it is old. Answer: Sorry newbie. Thats a Jabo latter run marble. They made millions a few years back. Hope you didn't pay too much for them. They were selling in groups for a couple bucks each in 2010, even most of the first types. You can get most now for a quarter or so.
  7. Oops sorry I already did.(LOL) Not really, but Alan and I have exchanged emails about some of his auctions. He takes criticism pretty well. Facts are, He is in it to get the most he can for the marbles he has to sell. It is business. If he wasn't he wouldn't be doing as well as he is with them. I still can't except calling an Akro a Rebel though.
  8. Those sure look like Alley marbles to me. The Paul Bunyans are not swirls.
  9. Actually it does seem like a fairly accurate article. There is one major piece of equipment not mentioned though. That would be the machine used for rounding the larger sized marbles. The orifices mentioned would be part of the furnace, not the rounding rollers. So now we ask, was there a large size auger setup at the plant when it was gone through?
  10. After some of the ridiculous stuff I have read in old articles I would say, Heck yes, there is plenty of reason to question the article.
  11. Yes they did, but I understand there are a few headless bodies in Russia today. (over the PC line, oh well)
  12. Handmades sold by Vacor de Mexico. Type in Atmosphere(s) in the search box above for some good info
  13. Good probability they are IMO.
  14. Nice box $1500.00 and up would be a lowball estimate. Possibly much more.
  15. Need to know the marble size. 00,0,1,2,3,4,5,6
  16. House of Marbles is one place that sold them. New boards can often be had in the 10-20 dollar range
  17. I wish I still had a bunch of them! Those names always drive up the prices!!!!!! Peace,Galen NHA lfetime member
  18. Yes that is diagramming Jeff from Joplin. His problem(and usual cause for banning on several boards) was talking down to folks and insinuating they were idiots when they disagreed with him. He did have some very useful information for sure.
  19. Right side of every Ebay auction it says (Ask seller a question) click there.
