  1. Man do I wish these guys would join the 21st century and get the auctions online. says the guy who starts a sentence with the word Man!(LOL)
  2. Hey Gnome, how about passing on the info that makes you so sure a auction was shilled???? It is amazing how high I have seen some auctions go for when two knuckleheads(yes, I have been known to be one on occasion)both put in big snipe bids to make sure they win.
  3. After the Newspaper Article you posted about the Amsterdam factory I think those that do not believe it have just not seen the article(with pictures)
  4. Those are so good I sure couldn't say they are Bulgarian. But they just have that too good, too much look too them. And the second one appears to have a pontil similar to the Bulgies. They sure are sweet and if were not too much I would think they would be nice to hang on to until a positive ID could be made???
  5. not sure, but I have never seen a similar Vintage marble
  6. I hav notced that some of my vegetable creations can lead to a variety of spontaneous combustion.
  7. There are some Champion "wirepulls" but they were yellow and made during a cat eye experiment.
  8. If I am not mistaken the Bruiser actually has a dark transparent green base that looks black??
  9. I have some Bulgarians with fairly well finished pontils. Do you have pics of the pontils on these?
  10. We were close, Very sad to here he has left us. R.I.P. my friend.
  11. Thats hilarious! And in 1952 probably size comparable for mouse to computer today {or even a lot smaller)
  12. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2054897.m570.l1311.R3.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xtrack+ball&_nkw=trackball+mouse&_sacat=0
  13. Just found the teaberry yesterday at a Bass Pro Shop of all places. No Clove (which I had also forgotten) or Black Jack
  14. They are sure pretty but those look so odd all I could think of was what a shame those Bulgarian marbles are now every where. They don't have the nasty rough pontil do they. And if they don't I have to say some unique marbles for sure!!
  15. Red Stuff is a perfect name, cause it aint Licorice where I come from.
  16. Some folks started designating a difference between red bees and ruby bees marbles due to transparancy and not aventurine. Problem with that is they can all be the same marble made in the same run as some colors(and red is one) will develope transparanct the longer it stays heated in furnace. And there were individual furnaces for the striping colors on NLRs. It was not added in tiny amounts and only being at temp for a short time like the crucible set up that makes swirls. NLRs are multi stream marbles. Ruby should mean sparkly which should mean Aventurine in my book
  17. A lot disagree but a Ruby Bee used to mean it had red aventurine. The sparkle giving it the gemstone designation. Lets hear from a Pelt Head.
  18. The bands on some NLRs meet in such a way to make a corkscrew. Older but not the oldest Pelts IMO
  19. The cane is pulled from a large "marble" that is made on a punty.
  20. I am with you on that Bob. I just had a big long discussions with some neighbors that the red stuff is not Licorice. When the dictionaries came out and the internet accessed it was once again proved I am becoming an old fuddy duddy.
  21. Tough to say since there are several versions.
