  1. cold and heavy sounds like mill balls. you could always put some strong vinegar on a ding and see if it bubbles(limestone) but limestone isn't real heavy?
  2. So thats where it came from !!!. I was going through a pile of old engravingspaintings and prints and found a big envelope with several marble related items. Thanks again Don.
  3. I believe these boxes also predate Marble King the company by a time greater than would have them originally filled with Marble King Marbles
  4. ended in 1929 with a reversal and order to dismiss . https://casetext.com/case/peltier-glass-co-v-akro-agate-co
  5. I do not believe it is a CAC. The glass is much too inconsistent IMO. CAC glass colors are usually very opaque and consistently solid? looking. No striations of the sort seen in that marble(which I would guess as an Alley?

As a die hard Pho eater (Tripe and tendon included please), rice noodles are my current favorite. I prefer Angle hair for spaghetti (garlic Alfredo clam sauce) my current go to. And elbows for mac(which I never have except when my friends that live down the street, mother comes to visit. Makes a mac and cheese that is 10 times better than any other I ever had.
  8. Al got me digging through the marbles and I was wrong. They were in many colors. I got these from Mike J.
  9. NO they are not California Agates which are all made from Mexican Onyx
  10. This one? http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7013338
  11. Sorry I am going to swear here, but I gave the Nikon away and went back to Canon. Couldn't find the one good setting for point and shoot freehand for the Nikon
  12. What you say makes sense to me. And now I do remember the French bags and boxes.
  13. They are found in packaging marked Germany I believe???

    Bulgarian

    Some have much better pontils.
  16. If Veiliglas wasn't so hard to remember I would call them Veiliglas swirls and wirepulls.
  17. It may be a Master(which often have Aventurine) has a big defect and has been well played with. I would say 10 bucks is a great price and anything more should have you dancing(or maybe at least happy with the sale)
  18. There were some Vacors that were blue patches on deep amber base. sometime the 2 patches blended into one
  19. The live event package lets you list all for bid and lead it into the live auction. I was just using this site as an example of how easy it can be to put auctions online. I would think the more bidders the more likely it would be to grow the Auction. It is nice catering to locals but I would think eventually the bids would get smaller and smaller and sellers may become dissatisfied. Best of luck however you carry on.

  21. I bet they did!! Sure wish you all could get someone to help get online. Just hate seeing more marbles go to Morphy.
  22. I feel a little punch to the gut every time I hear about one of these auctions
