There is even one called,Ron Sheperds Driveway sprinkle.Crushed green slag, and it was from his driveway. Getting "stuff" ready for Tuesday,,,,,,,,,after Sistersville is over,,,,,,,
  2. There is a 100% chance that Griff will wet a line in the Ohio river,,,,,,,

  4. Im thinking in the voice of Mr Burns from the Simpsons,,,,,, EXCELENT!!!!!!----LOL
  5. Looks like the marble show list is a little cluttered. Was going to post some more show(s) info, but didnt want to add until it was cleaned up. ---LOL---Kidding Thanks,,,,Griff
  6. It kind of looks like who ever made it,didnt roll the colored strands smooth, before encasing in crystal(clear). Kind of trapping the air between the layers. Could that be what happened?
  7. DAG NAB IT!!!!!!!---------Game over,,,,,,,,Ron is a "ringer",every one of the marbles are from the alley dig,and were sitting on your coffee table for a few days! I just wanted to show some of the unknown combo's for people to refer to. As a guess, most of the marble people that viewed the pics, probably thought they were looking at a mixed batch of marble companies. Dag gone HILLBILLY!
  8. I still see the first Scott Patrick, when I see you Scott. Keep on keepin on,,,,,,,,,,
  9. Spent the last 2 days, putting new brake lines on the truck. I could have went, but might have had trouble stopping in.
  10. Most of those are a high density ceramic, use for deburring/cleaning parts in a tumbles. Not talking about your little rock tumble,,,industrial. You can smack them with a hammer, and they will not break,,,,easily. Did a demonstration with one at Jabo once.Bounced to the roof, and left a mark in the concrete, and not on the marble. Had an old lady bite my head off, when I gave her the bad news.Told her thanks for shooting the messenger, and have a nice day,,,,somewhere else. Good to know there are still people out there that accept education, with grace.Good job,and lucky you,Steph,,,,
  11. Realy Clyde?Who's the crook that said the ignorant should pay?Must have heard it from someone,or are you just making stuff up as you go? Thanks for not answering my simple question.I appreciate what you have shown me.
  12. I thought the pop up on ebay, something about,8 people per hour were viewing it,was pretty cool.
  13. Its a good thing,no one caterers Galens opinions.Well, maybe a couple do,to be fair. I dont care for plain old black or white marbles. Did some vintage marble company already do that?----LOL Speaking of which,,,,,,,,,,Clyde, did I ask the question,in its proper form,or should I refrase it for your liking? My advise to anyone that wants to get involved with marbles,it would be wise to pay your dues, either by taking the time to educate youself,or if you dont, you will pay your dues with cash.Dont be scared, just do the work. This should be applied to just about any hobby/collecting,especialy if your biggest concern is one of these-$ You should also keep your eduction up dated, especialy since there have been a whole lot of new names,,,,,,for vintage marbles,in recent years. No wait,I ment to say since marbles are still being made. No,that aint it,,,since "new"(unknown)old marbles are still comming out of the ground. Wouldnt it be nice if we could just get a heads up about a marble that looks like another, instead of,,,,,well, you guys know,,,,,,,
  14. Oh no,I like them euro's.Especialy them purple/green flames. I dont age descriminate,,,,I like marbles, old, new, somewhere in the middle, makes no differance to me.If its something I like, thats all there is. Mandrakes has swung the hammer, and has hit the nail on the head. In marble collecting, everyone is responsible for their education, and ignorance.
  15. Still waiting for Clyde to give his definition of "damage" and "reproduction".
  16. Thanks for the info Bob. I can guarantee,at a minimum,a couple dozen ARE from newby's that have progressed from buying a couple of Jabo's or Sammy's,to having interest in the vintage marbles.I can also guarantee that some have progressed into buying vintage marbles. This is not speculation. Cant wait for some new books that will be comming out on Jabo's and Sammys'.
  17. Yep,Ann,your spot on with those slags. Its just like Hardy's misidentifying alley thumb pots as akro, for years. Then knowledge came along,,,,,,,,, There will always be deceptive people.Im not gonna place the blame on the marbles. Through out marble history, there has always been some overlap, and without looking into my crystal ball,Ill assume it will continue as long as marbles are being made. I think today is tommorows history,,,,,,,
  18. Oh yeah, those tank wash marbles,,,I dont recall any akro with the lime green and violet, not to mention the milky looking white.Patterns all wrong too. Of course,Im aware of there existance. That would be part of my marble education, and Im no rocket scientist. Yeah,ok,,,,let loose on that one!---LOL
