Killer "two tab" schmoozer!

These little ashtrays always amaze me with the variety of shades and colors involved--almost as many as a corkscrew.

Some of these come with an amazing amount of Ox or UV and many line up with the more rare corks/akros such as oxblood and lemonade. I just love these things.

We used to hunt these but just like corks--there are a lot of "commons".

Thanks for sharing it--great find.

Marble--On!!

Been buying them when possible for 25 years. Still looking for the lemonade ox…😬

I got a gift in the mail today from one of you. I will keep my buddy anonymous but not hide my amazement. Thank you my freind.

There is a nice Vitro Tiger eye, sweet pee wees, Master brushed patches and more. Almost half light up with UV light. I haven't quite taken a sit down yet, just to take and edit these images. I need to study them.

This display box looks to be an expertly repurposed jewely box. Home made and I love it!

Quite a coincidence that I am having two of Lawrence Alley III cigar boxes fitted with glass as I type this at the mirror and glass shop.

I am dumbstruck! I got all this and some change. Wooo Hoooo!

With flash and outside.

Went knife hunting this past weekend, total bust.

hit a local antique store and uncovered this.

2-1/16” onionskin original surface w/no hits or pops.IMG_2555.thumb.jpeg.8393ffbdb953c872d06946c4188fd8ae.jpegIMG_2556.thumb.jpeg.62c136a49b2d1c6bd0d8d24deb2e5c70.jpegIMG_2557.thumb.jpeg.1c8810a41da3cb11dc649a5c607e780e.jpegIMG_2558.thumb.jpeg.882f9f4926c7ec284d82c4623cea6c3b.jpegIMG_2559.thumb.jpeg.87e7556c49558061489e3cd921c9bb76.jpegIMG_2560.thumb.jpeg.542afda8c98da0cbc95cb61bb2e4983d.jpeg

ground pontil

4 lobes, red/green/blue/red

“spotty” ( never heard that term before)

what’s the guideline for its proper name?

@schmoozer Nice find, Brad! I think some people refer to the spotty ones as "end of days" - I'm not crazy about it.

And I'd probably refer to it as paneled rather than lobed.

Thanks Ric. I’m not a German handmade kind of guy….so my vernacular is severely retarded.

the seller was apparently less educated (price-wise), although he did call it an EOD.

Not going to be the most exciting post for many of you but every Tuesday night is Mega Marble Assorted Bag sorting night. I usually pick up about 10 bags a week and make up my own 24 + 1 shooter sets or add to inventory until I have enough for sets.

Tonight was a pretty good night and I only had 5 casualties. Sometimes there are a lot more that don't make the cut.

Got a bunch of rather unusual oddballs this time ( stack on left side middle ).

Thrift Store this morning. Under 6 bucks. Atlas bail top quart jar full and they all appear to be Vacor.

Some here I have not seen in asst bags and new to my inventory. Three different type Cats Eye boulder and super boulders. Not a pin prick, crack or chip.

Finding any marbles in the wild like this is rare around here in yard sales or thrift stores and this is my first actual lucky day for this sort of find in the wild. They look a bit older than what I'm used to getting at Hobby Lobby, but maybe just better runs?

Not exciting for everyone I know, but it made my day. Pictures are so so, but here they are.

It's me again. I went to three yard sales on the way home from the pool and first one actually had marbles. First one wanted "Twenty", I didn't even ask. The guy was so rude I left them lay without a haggle.

Then I found two side by side yard sales. I asked if they had any marbles and they said no. But when I was about to leave the guy said he had some in the cellar. I said hey, I'll buy em. Well he went down and brought them up. This is my unpacked, two boxes on the table when I got home.

IMG_0467.thumb.JPG.e9ab6432bb999073c2753a76187d9e3f.JPG

I washed them up and pulled the usual chipped, cracked etc. Not many at all.

Then I sorted them up. I got some Marble Kings Vitro's and a few Pelts. Some nice cate eyes and a lot of common ones too but they were nice. This one yellow net bag in the last picture has a lot of marbles in it from Mexico. The price was something like $1.49 on the sticker from the store. I will be posting it later for more info or to highlight it by itself mon another thread area.

Then I love them Vacors ya know, and I think that I have exactly 50 nice cobalt base patches which I do think are an older issue of some kind of Vacor. A gandful of slags. A few really nice flames and who knows what else. I have more work to do.

Yes there are some duds. A bunch of fried marbles which I detest but hey, it was a fun morning. I did good on the price too. Here's some more pics after I got them assessed.

Thanks for looking.

I wish my local yard sales had stuff like this.  Small score today at a local picker store.  Damaged but loved!

I was just lucky to see marbles at the two yard sales, luckier I didn't spend that 20 at stop one as well. I would have went right home. I see you are soaking some in that tupperware on the right. My new ones got a bath too. Half are already put away.

I like those two swirls you got. The white base red and the orange base red. I got one like the orange base with about 7 or 8 flame tips in my lot today. I think it's an Alley.

Here’s the orange based Alley Sistersville.  Was after the Lutz and orange Onionskin in the lot.  Did come up with a Vitro Beach Ball as well.

Thanks for posting. I suppose I have one from there as well. Had to do up a picture since you were so good to do so.

Nice Alley!   Love this classic color combo.  Maybe see you at the CT show in October?
