supramisfit
Seller said this one came with some dug Heatons but couldn't confirm any ID on it. Measures out at 5/8". I tried to show it in different lighting. 2
Fire1981
That is one cool WVS. I’m going to say that that is Oxblood. It looks like pieces bacon. As for the Heaton ID I have no clue. Let’s see what happens here with this one 🔥 RAR🍿

This is the thing here, In my experience Akro "Milkies" do not glow and I have not seen many Heatons with a glow to them with oxblood involved. If this was a marble in my stable, I would lean towards Heaton over Akro. This is a cool marble--very cool and I agree with the oxblood ID's. All opinions are appreciated and this one needs some more. Marble--On!!
supramisfit
I really appreciate all the input on this one. My first thoughts on this was Akro milky as that was the closest example I could find while browsing through photos online. But the similarities weren't close enough for me to decide with certainty. I. know the patterns on the milkies is highly variable but this oxblood pattern just didn't match any of the milky examples I could find. I dont own any Akro milkies to compare side by side. If someone out there that has one would backlight it would be cool to see a comparison. Anymore input is always welcome and appreciated!
akroorka
Here is an image of a "jobber box" full of Akro Milkies. The white is very opaque and backlighting just shows more white. None of these even comes close to the color that you show in your backilt image. Hope this helps. Marble--On!!
akroorka
Here are two images of an Akro Milky @7/8". I love to see the guts of any marble; it is just another form of id in our world I just received this marble in a trade from a valued friend. Note the intense opaqueness of the white---- and it is very white. Akro “Milkies” imho were some of the worst oxbloods ever made and some of the worst made by Akro. The quality control seems like it was bypassed in favor of production. A very minty, with no factory defects, Akro “Milky” is a thing to cherish imho. Alley made one quite similar—the quality is just much better and the swirling is off the charts. The colors are spot on with both imho. Marble—On!!

I see what you mean about how solid it is. Doesn't look like any light could pass through that. I guess my marble will remain a mystery for now. Thanks again. Fire1981
Fact or Fiction? Didn’t employees from other Factories try to work for Akro and try to steal the “recipe” for Oxblood 🔥 RAR

Did Akro "make" their own glass or have a supplier that no other company had acesss to? Marble espionage haha. I love this.
Fire1981
I think Sissy Dear had some information about this one. I can’t remember his exact name. I think it was Arnold Fielder(?) who is attached to this formula and was credited for producing Akro Oxblood. 🔥 RAR🍿

supramisfit
I guess this is a good example of how some marbles won't ever get a true ID confirmation. I guess I will call it Akroish milky oxblood with an asterisk haha. Thanks again for everyone's input on this one!

Doesn't mean they don't exist but I could find anything. Someone just show me a picture of an Akro milky that backlights similar to this and we can all sleep better at night 🙃
Ric
Not certain, but I'm thinking about JABO contract runs for the OP marble - I've seen some pretty similar. 1
