@Fire 1981---sad news that I have to share

Recommended Posts

Fires wife contacted me about some bad/sad news.
Fire died as a result of some injuries that he received while on the Ice rink.
He was a good marble buddy of mine.
Yes, he may have raised some ire here and there over the years but—he was always very passionate about marble collecting. I always appreciated that in him.
Fire was a “Fire Jumper” in his earlier years. Funny how that went from jumping out of planes to fight fires to becoming a Zamboni driver for the Colorado Eagles.
I will miss his wit and wisdom along with his attempts at becoming more amicable in the marble collecting community.
My thoughts are with his wife and daughter—and his chickens-lol.
Marble—On Rick Robbins (@Fire 1981)
We will all miss you---so sad—so sad!!

Oh my gosh what sad news. He was so kind to me and everyone else on here as well. I am completely shocked. I did notice he had not posted which I thought was unusual. I am sad, and so is everyone else. Prayers and sincere thoughts for all who are hurting from this loss.

Oh, I was really hurt, I'm sorry... truly

I knew him a little, but I knew him, even if only online and not in person

Yes, it may have ire some anger in some people, but in its own way, it was also likable

In the past, to my surprise, I received this large marble from him and I will always keep it in his memory

Oh yes, "BOO YAH"

Rest in peace

This really bothers me...a lot.  Rick really embraced me when I was new around here.  We chatted a fair bit in dms and he was extremely generous with his time, and specifically with me.

I noticed he hadn't been around, and just yesterday sent him a DM to check in.

RIP Rick.  My thoughts go out to his family.

So sad

If I post late at night, I get up early in the morning before I head out to the YMCA pool. I miss Fire. He used to be up much later than me and a lot of times he was responding to my posts for me to see when I popped in to MC before heading out the door.

It's been a sad thing for many of us. People here become very important to us in our everyday lives. I don't say much here, I read a lot more than get involved. I don't hit the "like" buttons as much as I ought to as I most times forget it's there. I hope and pray his family is OK.
