  1. I agree on the pinch "pontil" slag.
  2. Lots of Zebras and Skunks without AV. As for the "copper", I'm not seeing it. It looks more like some sort of dirt/clay debris to me.
  3. @Fire1981 Since you said "Figure 8 Rainbo" in your title, you should know that the Figure Eights are not Peltiers. As far as I know, they are related to "Mushrooms". Many of them were originally found in Canada but I think they are of Asian or European origin.
  4. So oogly - I love it! Probably one of the most interesting Conquerors I've seen!
  5. This one looks more slag than swirl, IMO - drizzly, I like it.
  6. For me, Heaton and Alley come to mind with this one but, as Art said, they're quite common and several WVS companies made similar.

    Flame?

These days, to qualify as a Flame, most people like to see 5 stacked tips - this one does not qualify. I wouldn't really even call it "flamey".
  8. Not so much caged style as weird sunburst-y kinds of things with structures all over the place and really poor quality control.
  9. The marbles are thought to be Peltier since the origin on Gropper boxes is Ottawa, IL. Photos are from an auction Steph posted in 2007: The forum's search function is a wonderful thing. 🙂
  10. Bottom line . . . in the case of the OP marble, onyx = slag and vice versa. I just didn't want the Steven to get the idea that his marble was not a slag.
  11. To be clear, "Onyx" was Akro's brand name for their slags.
  12. I understand your thinking but it's pretty esoteric for cheap kid's toys. It's probably better to think about base glass and striping glass rather than opaque and transparent glass. Slags and transparent swirls have transparent base glass and opaque striping glass, regardless of their proportions. And nice (recent) slag too. Does it react to UV?

    Master?

Left could be Vacor the right ones look more foreign to me also.
  14. Is the base glass translucent?

    3 oddballs

They all look foreign (more Euro than Asian) to me. I don't think the right one would qualify as a "Pincer" (don't think I've heard of a "pincher"). It looks a bit more like a "sparkler" type, IMO.

    4 vitro?

Yes, more Vitro Hybrids - some of my favorites.
  17. The outer bubbly ones might be Master, otherwise foreign. The center one looks mostly like a Vitro to me.
  18. I think Bill had a couple of these kind of Pelts too.
  19. It looks like a foreign Cat's Eye to me too, although I can sorta see why you might have initially thought Pelt - that seam in the last pic is a little deceiving.
  20. You've got that right! Honestly, I kinda gave up on Pelts long ago . . . I like 'em from WV, and the swirlier the better! 😃

    Pontils

Creased "pontils" on Japanese marbles made by Nippon Special Glass Ball Mfg Co . . .
