  1. Thanks, that was in my first real good find. I found 10 marbles early on in a shop, One was a blue oxblood, a popeye and that green tightline. That's a great color on that one there, very nice, Disco.
  2. That's the closest I could find too Steph, the tangerine or creamsicle color and the blue-ish purple threw me a little tho.=} Certainly a favorite, love the odd even if only slightly odd. lol
  3. last one I want to put in the citrus family but unsure
  4. And the most chocolatey goodness base I have ever seen. Would love to hear if others have found more of these.
  5. I'll throw out a few oddball Pelts here for fun. Super odd base on this guy. Very milky for lake of better words.
  6. The second, a Euro that has seen a couple hard fought battles but is still overpowered by it's captivating pattern. I can spend a lot of time enjoying this marble. 1 inch shooter, if I were a marble going in against this guy I would be scared. =}
  7. I have two that are surely fallen Angels, the first an Alley that has seen its share of action, neither will leave my collection.
  8. Thanks Ric, that has been my thought and then that got stronger with the back lighting to a red, but it was really just a guess as it is not my strong suit either.
  9. You are welcome Steph, they are out there. Thought I would throw it up and see what is said about it. I am not much of a hand made period collector but believe I have read here that it is now thought that some Navarre have ground rather than melted pontil. I was wondering what the good folks here might think of this. Hand made slag? Horizontal swirl? There is one of the surface ribbons that goes slightly under the surface, the rest remain on top. It back lights more red than amber. I had enough idea about it to know I had to snatch it up before it was put in the for sale display. =} It was just to darn cool.
  10. Not a huge score but I like it. Just shy of 1 inch, some pocket wear and a bubble pop but other than that, this single ground pontil swirl breaks the dry spell. =} While Amber it backlights more red.
  11. Collected pocket knives for a bit, unfortunately roomate had a party and the collection walked away. Gave the zippo collection to a friend, Currently besides marbles, I collect different species of African Cichlids. lol
  12. Nice stuff Bob! I like your way of thinking and then putting it to use. Well done.
  13. LOL It is him! He lives! lol Thanks Steph, it was fun to put together. A lot of photographing marbles.
  14. Hi Guys and Gals, been a while since I was around much. I am slowly finding more time. Hence my post today. I am pleased to announce after far two long, I have finished a project between Dani & Ernie and myself. Today I give to you a sneak peak of our Alley Agate Marbles, poster. It is 16x20 big enough to see well and small enough to not cover the whole wall. Dani even framed hers. I must say this thing ROCKS! High quality no doubt. Here is a couple quick images to give you an idea. Should you be interested, they are 18$ shipped to your door. Inquire by sending Dani a PM.
  15. Wish I could have been there a bit longer but it was great to see everyone!
  16. Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed them. Yes, hours and hours upon hours. lol There is always a bit of luck as to what you might find or what might happen right infront of you. If you are not out there, you can assume great things are happening somewhere and you are missing them. lol That said, when you are out there you have to know how to capitalize on what you do see. One, learn your target. The habits, what and where it eats, sleeps, sounds like in different situations and it's reactions to different stimuli. It changes for all species and will help you know where to look. With the Snowy Owls for instance. I shoot them when they are moving thru for the winter. They prefer areas by water that is open, not overgrown, and has logs for them to sit upon and watch. They will see you well before you see them. So how do you get close? These birds are used to hunting and feeding around grazing animals up north. Why does that matter? Well, those logs that they sit on also protect them from predators. Predators will come over the logs toward them and they are gone because the logs slow the predator enough. Back to those grazing animals, they don't go over the logs but graze around them and never pay attention to the owl, walking back and forth past them. The Owl does not feel threatened. So to get close, I have bent over and slowly made my way at several 45degree angles back and forth past the Owl paying very little attention to him/her getting slightly closer every pass. I have even stopped for a second to rip grass out of the ground and then drop it little by little as I go. I am now an Elk or sheep. I have gotten within 30 yrds of Snowy owls. Most birds do not require so much, but you get the idea.
  17. LOL! Yes, there is hope. I have never seen another besides Bill's but I am sure they are out there. I saw this in a bad pic on ebay listed as CAC not long after I saw Bill's for the first time. I snagged it up as quick as I could. It is not mint but in this circumstance I just don't care. =} I have yet to see another anywhere.
  18. I agree, Winnie. Great bunch there. Galen, nice bunch as well, I want that red and green one and the blue and yellow. =} Here is a collage of mine.
  19. Fantastic! The range of color combos you have is very nice! I seem to have a habit of finding the lavender, white and green in varying shades. I would love to find some of these others. I have one blue and yellow but it is rather plain compared to this fantastic example!
