  1. I have always wanted some Akro ashtrays but had not pulled the trigger. Saw these two on the bay and could not help myself. Had never seen one sparkle befor and this one is full! Just thought I would share.
  2. That marble is roached! I don't have one of these yet and NM would not be an issue at the right price....this marble would not cut it. Not at all what I would expect from Morphy's but I will surely be aware now.
  3. I am thinking not! The certainly posted those pics with their eyes closed.
  4. Oooh, I like both sides of that trade! Super nice Blue and Green there at the top Winnie.
  5. Well, I have recieved my book! Wow, a fantastic work of great and interesting information. The thought, care and work that this required I can only imagine! Thank you for the book and evrything it took to produce it, Larry. Keep shooting those birds. Birds happen to be one of my favorite things to photograph as well. Paul
  6. Some nice wire pulls, Ric. But I would love to see more views of the swirl!
  7. Very cool! Can't tell he has done that once or twice before. =}
  8. Hmm, I now see making a case for Akro here as well. It had crossed my mind with the first look and I talked myself out of it. lol Not the first time, won't be the last. lol
  9. Thank you both. It does make it easier to make a good image, when you get to shoot a cool marble. =}
  10. Thank you both Danny and Bill, for your input. Bill the Ox in this one is actually not on the surface. It is actually internal. It is not super deep, maybe a 32nd. But there is some bubbles and mica between the surface and the ox.
  11. Here is another of my favorite handmades, this one I found in a your pick 25 cent bowl at the checkout counter of a second hand store just a couple years ago. I need to re-shoot it. Mica with oxblood. I would love to have both these in a larger size but I like to eat so I will be happy with what comes my way as these did. =} From what I can tell with my limited handmade knowledge, this is a fairly HTF marble. Maybe some of you good folks can fill me in on just how HTF it really is. It is approx. 5/8.
  12. Thanks everyone. Being mostly a machine made collector I don't have a huge handmade collection. This little guy came to me in a $10 bag of mibs from an antique store in the early 90's shortly after the start of my collecting. It has remaind a favorite since.
  13. I have tried this, tis no easy feat! Well done.
  14. Yes Sir, there is a worn spot on my desk, really a divitt by now. =}
  15. Bee....that is a nice looking marble and at 1 inch, it's a killer.
  16. Hi, Bill, thank you. Glad you like the site. Those are some killer marbles ya got there! Now, in photoscape.... hit editor bottom left hit crop pick your image below crop...check the box round image below that pick color use space bar and mouse to control outline hit the crop button to the right of crop freely now...hit home button where it says "no frame" hit the arrow in the pop up I choose black line 8 then at the bottom hit margin in this pop up choose color I then check the box assign same margins and then change the first # to 25 now save your image and you are set up to do the backgrounds. Most of that you will not have to change every time unless you wish too. =} Hope that helps.
