    thanks Wayne, that does shed some light. I thought I read somewhere that an old Alox machine was around but I must have skipped over the details making the connection with Jabo, = my confusion. At least I was right about missing the point. I'd have a tougher time properly ID'ing an Alox marble than a Volkswagon for sure. lol

    Good car analogy but I'm not quite sure I get the point. It's pretty clear that a Volkswagon has a VW on the grille and Audi has their circles. Are you saying that if German Engineered cars are assembled in Mexico, all is good? I'm missing it entirely, I'm sure .

    I think yours are some colorful swirly examples, Winnie. Here's some from another post, also around the same size but with really notable "orange peel" surface. I've got a couple similar ones, but less colorful/swirly. Did these come in Camel boxes or was that a different type?

    Nice 7-ups, they probably couldn't get far with a woman in a bathing suit on a bottle nowadays. I'll have to dig around but there may be a couple around here. Teal vs. Aqua might be hard to differentiate from pics

    Putting opinions aside, are we talking about rows left to right or columns up and down. I think it`s a good enough pic to make a point, could even be sheeps wool as a background. What`s all good and great is that people today can readily tell Jabo`s from (more vintage) marbles. But give it some time, and see where we are then.

    Good point about the boxes, I'd wager they don't "smell" old either. Old paper/cardboard products usually have a certain funk to them.

    I'd like to see any other vintage cane-cut marble knock-offs. Those ones (although nice) still look pretty new.

    cool, sounds like a bit more steps put into repair than I originally thought so maybe "cooking" wasn't the proper terminology to begin with, but the results speak for themselves. I think it turned out great, good job

    I'd often wondered if "cooking" was limited to surface damage only or if "cracks" could be fixed with a torch. interesting

    Haven't seen a vintage marble with that pattern with those colors in that size, leaning towards non-vintage, but in reply to your question I'd say that's what's sometimes referred to as a ghost core on vintage marbles.
