It has been a while since we've had a thread on how the Akro spinner cup worked. Pictures are missing and links are broken in some of our past threads. Anyone up for making a fresh explanation of the cork-making process? Thanks in advance.

Someone is selling two ready to run 5/8" machines, enough fire block to do the outside and top of one or two furnaces, one furnace frame, and some odd and end materials. If you have serious interest in making such an acquisition, I can put you in contact with someone who can fill you in the materials and negotiate a price. The price on all would be less than the price of building one machine.

It doesn't look quite as old to me as the glass of the NLR marbles which sometimes get called Miller Swirls.

Cork gone wrong? Pelt gone wrong? Double ingot?

Interesting. The way the ribbons join in this view make me think Vacor. I don't recognize the wispy white though. Hmmm ... maybe a "Lion"? DETAILS (billes-en-tete.com)

Ooooh. Prettttyy. A big one, huh? If it was smaller I was going to be torn between Vitro and Master, but at .86 inches, I'll go with Vitro.

Are we seeing yellow? Or is white which is coming out yellow on the screen? I think we may be seeing two Akro Onyx in the OP. The slag version of the Akro Onyx on the left. The corkscrew version of the Akro Onyx on the right. But that's only if I'm looking at red and white marbles. If red and yellow, then that's a little different as far as style names would go.

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been cleaning buildings and I'm worn out! It sure is a great workout though. And now there's snow to shovel, so I'm pooped even more. I sleep wonderfully.

Maybe instead of being an unswirly swirl, the left one could be a very swirly Peltier patch. I thought of that on first glance, but then my mind dismissed it by the time I got around to typing my post. But I'll note the thought here.

Looks like very unswirly swirls, so unswirly that someone might say Jabo. They both do look vintage to me though. But I usually put all my "transparent swirls" together and don't even try to sort by maker. Maybe they're unusual enough though that someone can give us a lesson about them.

It both glows under UV and has great fire inside in daylight. The time I realized I might have something special was when I noticed that it had the handgathered nine pattern. Then later my favorite Pelt guy confirmed it for me.

The right looks corky. Might be an Akro. Do you think the left is vintage? My first impression about it was that it would be modern Vacor. But with the yellows in both marbles looking so much alike I'm not wanting to jump to conclusions.
