This might be a Vitro Conqueror. Is the interior transparent?

    3Marbles

The middle one is a Vitro Tiger Eye. I think that's a 1960's version. The left is looking like some kind of cat's eye but different view might change my mind. The right appears to be some kind of patch. If we could get a clear shot of the seams that might help someone make an ID.
  3. The marble community lost Roger Alfrey today, to spinal meningitis. Such a shock. He was a good friend to me. He had gotten heavily into Marble Kings recently. He had a lot of marble adventures this past year. If you are active in the Facebook marble groups you were probably lucky enough to have an exchange with him. Rest in peace, friend.
  4. very handsome .... and the marble ain't shabby either
  5. odd ... getting a slightly newish feel from them. Could they be 1990-ish Vitros? Need to hear from someone else.
  6. No ... no idea where the bag pic came from
  7. Why do I suddenly smell bacon?
  8. Here is an example Winnie posted of six-vane cat's eyes with what we call cross-throughs. The bottom left one is a clean example of one with all three colors crossing through and no white, which could be the most valuable of the lot. But what would the market value be? I do not know.

    Need help

I do not know. I'm wondering if they're oddball Marble Kings.

    Help

Okay. (Not sure from one view, but looks like the bottom could turn out to be a modern Marble King.)
  11. Are they actually selling at $25? I think the most I've sold one for was about $15 ... it was a 1" aventurine. I wish I had it back! I wouldn't be shocked to see a three-way cross-through with bright colors and no white go for a few bucks ... But most Japanese cats eyes would be down in the few cents range if you could find a buyer. Pattern matters a lot. Maybe someone else will share thoughts or pictures on the most valuable Japanese cats. I might be able to find some pix tomorrow. But gotta say goodnight for now ....

    Help with id

Aw, thank you so much, Bud. Made my day. ♥ Nice to see you.
  13. The left marbles is a Peltier Peerless Patch. From about 1930. I'm getting a general West Virginia swirl feel from the marble on the right. Also vintage, but maybe not quite as old as the Pelt.
  14. Hey, it's still winter for two more days!

    Help with id

Vacor Serpents. In your top right view, check out how the one yellow ribbon and one red ribbon meet at a tiny cutline. The two ribbons meeting at the small cutline are a telltale sign that we have a Vacor rather than a Pelt.
  16. Hi again. That looks like a "West Virginia Swirl". About 10 companies in West Virginia made swirls from the 30's through the 50's.
  17. Hi, Alice. I have enjoyed some anime. Welcome.
  18. Hiya! I STILL have a batch of marbles to mail to you. I've found it and reburied it and found it and reburied it and moved and ...... Nice to see you! Glad you're still marbling.
  19. Thanks, Sean. I've been feeling very fuzzy on the slaggy marbles.
  20. Hi! I'll guess Japanese transitional. That's only a guess though.
  21. Thanks, guys. That's what I suspected.
