  1. I don't know if it's Pelt. I'm not sure if that's "feathering" or just the way white sometimes splits up in a slag.
  2. Well hi, Richard! Nice to see you.
  3. I made a couple of contacts. Let's see what happens.
  4. Oh yes. Nice one. Akro Onyx corkscrew.
  5. There is someone by the name of Crystal who has caused some trouble recently in some facebook groups. She has done some namechanging to make things more confusing. One of the last names she used started with H. I think some think that you're that person .... Hopefully this can all get straightened out soon.
  6. Beautiful! Which is your newest? Which is hardest to find?
  7. Good news. I was surprised myself when I heard someone say it ... and I couldn't get confirmation. I guess that's why.
  8. I'm pretty sure Galen has the box of pastels now. Yeah ... the color looks good. I recall it being said that some were single-seam and some were two-seam. I'm not sure if any were handgathered (with the 9 and tail). I don't _think_ that any were randomly swirly.
  9. "Mib" is supposedly Latin for marble. Safe to call 'em mibs even at 1". I try to make a habit of calling the 1"-er a boulder. I recognize it when someone else calls it a shooter though. The reason I try not to to call it a shooter is because in tournament play, the max size allowed on the shooter is 3/4". But sometimes I go with the flow and call the bigger ones shooters. I don't personally call transparent based marbles "flames". But obviously some do! It sure is flamey. If that base were opaque, I think you'd be seeing your four tips. (Doesn't have to have the tips in every view, just one.)
  10. I think probably Alley is right on that one. I don't think of CAC pastels as being so swirly.

    Pelt?

That'd be my guess. Interesting one. Like it wants to be an earlier one colorwise, but moving more firmly into the rainbo era with the structure. I'd peg it at mid-30's to maybe the 40's.
  12. Definitely vintage! The purple is a slag. Probably Akro. The tan is a sweet transparent swirl. The pattern looks Alley. Ha! What lostmymibs said! I was still typing while he was posting.
  13. I thought I heard that Bill passed. Hope I heard wrong.
  14. How lovely And fitting for the season.
  15. Marble mail is the best! That flamey transparent swirl in the gallery is pretty great too.
  16. Oh gosh, the ones I was thinking of ... @mibstified's mibs ... it's turns out they're kinda bubbly .... so back to the drawing board. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/7815-cac-trans-swirls/
  17. I don't see slag. I see swirl. Now, whether it's a WV Swirl or a CAC ... no opinion.
  18. That's why some people upload to their album instead and then you can copy the address from the album and paste in a thread. ... or have you run out of room in your album?!
  19. Snowing all day. Hard to say how much with the wind blowing like it is. 0 inches at some spots on the driveway. A foot high in other spots.
  20. Did you try to attach pix? They might be too large. If the purple is amethyst, that could mean Heaton or Marble King. Lavender could be Vitro or Marble King. The most purply one I can remember seeing -- I think was a Vacor de Mexico. Hopefully we can get those pix.
  21. Fixed! The fabulous pictures are hosted at Pinterest now instead of Photobucket.
  22. Sorry about that. Feel better!
  23. Oh gosh ... @BobBlock ... are you in the neighborhood? Could be from the1800's, but I don't have a clue on value.
