  1. I suspect that your idea of sending them off to Alan might be the best. Individually wrapped to keep them safe and sound to protect them in their journey of course. Having his reputation behind the sale could help you come closest to getting the price you hope. I don't mean to rain on your parade. Maybe someone will swoop in and take them off your hand before I'm done even typing this! Wishing you the best of luck no matter what!

    Vitro Tiger Eyes

Coolness! And then the Type 4's can look like Type 3's but have a white base. Those are sometimes overlooked as something like "all-reds with no red".

    Vitro Tiger Eyes

    Awesomation! Thanks guys!
  4. I'm brain dead this morning. Couldn't answer what shoulda been a simple Vitro question in the ID forum. So how about just a carefree Tiger Eye thread. Show 'em if you got 'em! p.s., one of Chuck B.'s Tiger Eye article from the WVMCC newsletter, now at Joemarbles.com, the one which describes the Tiger Eye types. p.p.s., And another, 57 VARIETIES
  5. Mustn't leave out Bill. Bill, please will those to me.
  6. And we have winners! source(s): Marbles winners share a special tradition . & . Mibster’s Delight The new National Marbles Champs are Penelope Bauer of Bloomfield, PA and Corey Goolsby from Standing Stone, Tennessee. Or maybe that's Hanging Limb, TN. FWIW, in keeping with the title of the thread, it appears that Penelope is the sister of the 2007 champ Alexandra. Also, both boys in the final were from the same town as each other, next door neighbors even. Charlie Mott, the winner from 1942, was at the tournament. Very cool. More articles, in no particular order, as I run across them while I search for details: Bloomfield girl wins U.S. marbles tourney Bloomfield girl goes for all the marbles Tenn. boy, Pa. girl crowned king and queen of marbles National Marbles Championship Finals (lots of pix) [maybe more to come, but I might be done now lol]
  7. I've set up several traps for his mail carrier. Hopefully can intercept. Edit: I posted this in the wrong thread! lol - hope I didn't confuse anyone!
  8. woohooo!! made it to 100 wheeeeeeee!!!! :D
  9. It's a fine question. My vote would be original on most, but yes, I did question a few myself. I also thought two of the marbles from the 3rd box looked out of place, but with Dave's pix of his shooter size one with similar colors, it makes it seem more like they fit in a box like that. Still not sure about the one in the 2nd box.
  10. Dude! I thought that one might have been an American which slipped in by accident. But now that I see yours . . . . COOL BEANS! (seller said 11/16")
  11. I don't know nuthin about GR values or even sizes but here's a pic from the auction to get the discussion rolling. 9/16".
  12. I thought that Uncmikie was a respected longtime member of the community. Paul something? Starts with a G? But now that you mention it, I also remember hearing something else recently about that seller ID - just a mere mention - which I hoped to hear a follow-up on but never did. Has the control of that ebay ID changed hands?
  13. Top left looks like an Anacortes Vitro. Yah, purple one looks like it's in the Conqueror family. The other 3 don't immediately make me think "victory". Right now I'm not sure they would immediately make me think "vitro". White patch on colored base can really make me waffle. Also, the bottom right mib makes me think a little of some of the foreign mibs which some might ID as victories. Sometimes the simplest looking mibs are the trickiest.
  14. as with most mibs I believe there are exceptions and variations. For example, I don't think a little bit of tint in the base would necessarily rule out something being a victory. not sure enough about 'em tho'.
  15. Hi Gene. That would be a Yellow Jacket.
  16. Here are this year's entries for the Glass Addiction Alphabet Marble Contest. The marbles are shown on video. That's a new thing. Kinda cool. http://www.pbase.com/glass_addiction/2010alphcontest
  17. LOL. I can see you walking through Winchester Cathedral and thinking - wow, I could do a lot with that stained glass. (p.s., ouch @ the hand and teeth )
