  1. West Virginia companies exported a lot of marbles. I've seen some Vitros end up over there which didn't match the usual marbles seen in America. Based on that, I could imagine some interesting Marble Kings being sent over there which didn't necessarily match the typical marbles sold in packaging here.
  2. Beautiful. I am all in on Marble King. Exceptional Rainbow on that top one. Really earns the Rainbow name!
  3. Hate to stir things up if they're considered settled, but at that size, with an indistinct pattern, I would be considering Jabo.
  4. Nifty. I don't know exactly what styles of handmades I've seen photographed with other canes in the core. But I know folks have discovered similar things under their outer layers and shown them off to us. I actually haven't ever checked my handmades for that. I don't have many. It would be a short search.
  5. If Akro then I'm guessing one made near the end of their production time. I could see that based on structure and base glass, though I don't recognize the patch color.
  6. Submarines used to be made in my area ... and then side-launched into Lake Michigan to get to whatever ocean they were supposed to end up in. Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company - Wikipedia
  7. I think not American. Maybe Vacor Old Fashion?
  8. The colors and the base glass texture made me think Peltier. The pattern ... no idea. Wouldn't be too surprised if it did turn out to be MK. But wouldn't be surprised at Akro or Vitro either.
  9. There's good most everywhere, but this is a very nice thing for you to say. Thanks to all who have gotten this place lively again.

    Woody?

Bahahahaha! Good one! Rick, OP = Original Post in a thread ... or Original Poster who started the thread.
  11. I agree foreign to the U.S. I do love the ones which look really close to something which could be from the U.S. though ... and a nice big size.
  12. I think Alley on the right. My first thought was Vitro on the bottom but I could see possibly Akro. Maybe Champion or Alley on the left. For the top I just go with "transparent swirl".

    My new kittens

Thank you both. I've never thought I would never have another again. We still have two of course, but I don't think it's possible for us to be without a cat. I will say not another kitten. Punkin has made me think I could be good at taking care of another special needs cat, but an older one. Punkin and Bear were the last kittens for me.

    My new kittens

We lost Punkin last night. We never found for sure what was causing his weight loss but the vet's final thoughts were that he was his liver, and was only a matter of time. Such a sweet spirit.
  15. Since it's Chuck and it's on this forum, I guess I should head over to a Heaton thread first.
  16. Someone had posted pictures on Facebook of some marbles that I had hoped could possibly be the mysterious Du-Lites. That's what prompted this thread. Someone else has now posted similar ... or maybe it's the same person posting a second time. Here's the new post -- the group is set to private so that means you need to be a member pf the group to see it: Vitro Marbles : Anyone have any info on this box | Facebook Here's a screenshot. So this is what I had been hoping were Du-Lites.
  17. #2 is gorgeous! (I agree Master.)
