Hmmm ... that's looking like a Jabo to me. .5 inches or smaller? Jabo did make some peewees. I don't remember if they made them in that classic style.

Oooh, I would immediately have said Alley when I saw the photo. But then reading your text reminded me that some of the Heaton find included marbles that I would have immediately called Alley. Off now to see if blue and green is one of the Heaton combos.

Plastic calipers can be had for very low price. Or you could measure with two blocks of wood squarely against the ruler and the marble in between the wood blocks. But, yeah, non-metal calipers give a quick, safe way to measure.

Marblenewbie, yours are called Fried Marbles. They were a fad in the 1960's but may still be being made as decorative pieces. They are made by subjecting marbles to very high and very low temperatures.

And when we write the marble club newsletter article on the subject, we'll use both Mojo's Rainbow Sherbet and his Yellow Sherbet as quintessential defining examples.

I love the name "sherbets"! I'll do my part to help it catch on.

That bit of overlap in color makes me wonder if maybe I should have thought a little harder before saying that. But the larger three really do look like Veiligglas to me.

I'm still going with three Veiligglas and one Jabo.

I was thinking possible Jabo (or related marble) on that 4th one, not for the buttcrack but for the sheer number of colors.

Pretty sure I have puzzled over this marble before. Pretty sure I first saw it before DAS came into existence. At least well before the Wildflower run.

Yes, too many at one time. Sorry. The problem is made worse by the difficulty in pointing out which picture we're talking about. One of the groups of three would have been okay for a thread. Then we could say "top, left, right". That said, in the first photo, the bottom left looks like a Vacor Blue Macaw. In one of your groups of you have a peach and white marble at the bottom right. That would be Master. In the group of five, the red, yellow and black one may be a Vacor Twister.

I'm seeing WV swirl on the second #8. And WV swirl on #1. On #3, I could go either vintage swirl or modern Vacor. Yeah, Jabo sounds good on #5, especially if it's a big one. Certainly considering Jabo on #7.

#9 is pretty. Maybe Champion? Might be a little too close to "single color" to be sure in the end.

#2 I think that is Japanese marble. One which is sometimes called a mushroom marble. Leaning that way on #6 also. #4 ... size? First thought was Master. #10 Master Thanks for putting fewer marbles in the thread today. Makes it easier for folks to jump in and try to take a shot at id-ing.
