Officially, anything above 85% AV. coverage is considered a cannonball, I have seen 100%, I believe Bill was the one who had a fully. Yours looks just under the 85 probably 70 - 75 but still a HTF killer, a very nice mib & for sure a keeper. In my pea size brain they're all becoming keepers anymore. A link to a post I made on the subject on the other forum. The 85% is a well known number with Pelt heads, cannonball is a fairly new name for a marble that's been around a long time. A Purple Tiger is the old school name for a marble I aggressively tried to get for years, similar to a cannonball. Names some have never heard but many of us are familiar with. I got the 85% number from a 45 year collector and knew 20 yrs ago they where VVHTF then and impossible now. I wouldn't be letting go of the zebra you have anytime soon. LINK : https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=46801&p=342522&hilit=cannonball#p342522 No an easy bird to pluck, many are close few make it, I sold my 90 in o9, by, by birdie. Someone's appreciating it right now, though the picture is still in my mind. This is what we called a Purple Tiger 20 Yrs. ago. A Tiger, somewhere between 90 & 95 % because of the blue Av. running over into and on the orange. I seen one a friend had 10 feet away sparkling in the sun, a very beautiful marble with almost 100%, after that pictures only. This is the only pic I have of one. Sooo glad I saved it !! I wish they would have taken this picture in the sun. I mentioned it on the other forum but nobody responded, probably in fear of everyone trying to get it from them if they identified themselves, never-ending pestilence.

The shed & sorting room are going to come regardless if you sell or not, you have been bit as we all have. One thing I always remember a dear friend telling me "You rule the glass, it never rules you" Now back to work

There is no end my Friend, I just bought another display (already full) I had to wall mount & as for the sorting !! do you see them stopping ?? Pretty soon it's gonna be and I think there's something running down my cheek, strange but I'm laughing at the same time You better start building your display shed now, I never could understand how something so small, could take up so much room ??

.......................................................................Feel's like I'm....................................................................... I guess it's time to open a new I gotta meditate on this one for s bit..................

And don't forget the soon coming & dreaded "resorting" after you're done sorting again now you know what this emoji is for, I didn't and always wondered about the smirk on their little faces ??

I'm with ya there Tommy, I like pics along with the description, seems to make it a whole lot easier Easy is good !! ( I think ??)

x 2, agree with Ric, all 3 MK, the first definitely newer, some of the newest have a pinkish base but same end patch pattern, when I seen the pinkish base on the new ones it threw me for a second. The old MK's had a patch on one end and a ribbon that extended all the away around the marble. Here's an example of the old school original patch & ribbon style MK spider men. Patch on one end and a single ribbon extending around the mib. This one has a bit of oxblood showing in the second pic on the bottom of the ribbon, some of my old time favorites are the Hercules, Wasp, Tiger & Bengal Tigers. Gotta go now some pics of them later !!! SPIDER MAN TIGER

Here are 3 of the familiar CAC s shapes on the end used as an Identifier, the first 2 are striped opaque's & the third is a submarine, all with the same signature CAC ends running from one seam to the other. Not every one I've seen has it but if it did a 99.9 % chance of it being a CAC. The 3 pics of seams are self explanatory, & yes agree a CAC peach slag is much more pink in appearance CAC ENDS CAC SEAMS

A great mib Bill, I traded its twin and 2 other 3/4" pelts in a deal with Sami at the Seattle show 4 years back, slick & clean an easy wet 9.8. all 3. VVVHTF one of those reddish orange swirls now, yours is only the 4th one I've ever seen as big and with the same pattern & color as mine not beat all to breakfast. A great mib Brother If I was still a kid ?? that'd be the first one I would start thumpin with my thumb & flingin @ the other mibs, probably not in such good shape in a very short order.

New site dedicated to promotion of marble shows.
Chad G. replied to Steph's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The site is growing almost daily, I have been in touch with Levi & he's more charged up than I am. Fantastic, finally a site totally dedicated to marble Show dates, reputable sellers, dealers stores & news. Gonna be a busy man and needs all the help he can get. Work that will lead to the furthering knowledge, availability & streamlining of the hobby, eliminating endless keystrokes & search queries. " Thank you Again Levi" Chad G. -
They have new repros of these Steph ?? they're one of the better made toys I believe from 05 or so. If I had another I would send it to ya !! Understandably yes I did have to wait a while to get one just like the one I had as a kid. They did make an earlier model, but I haven't seen one for years, people tend to hang onto things that last as long as these old toys. More pride in quality & manufacturing then, not the slap together, disposable world we live in now. Didn't mean all over by common just that they made a bunch of these, they probably made it through the childhood of the original owner and were thrown out by the parents ?? Not meaning to get under anybody's skin with the "common" remark !! It maybe all the good memories that made it seem common to me ??

Hard to tell by the pics but I think the second one is Vacor(Mega), made in Mexico.

Peltier Grey Dragon vs. Peltier Orange Angel.
Chad G. replied to Peltier Mibber's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
It's all gold to me !!!!!!........................................... and a bunch of little ones make one big one !!!!!!!! Wish I had places like that around here to check out. Most all the dumps & homesteads around here are being or have been gleaned to death. " One mans garbage is another's gain" I bet you find some, like you said they weren't looking for mibs. -
Please try and include a size on the mib, can be a great help in I.D.ing some mibs, including these wirepulls. Many were made in Amsterdam by the Veiligglas company, though I'm almost certain this is not one of them a size measurement is a good indicator for identifying some manufacturers.

Peltier Grey Dragon vs. Peltier Orange Angel.
Chad G. replied to Peltier Mibber's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Close but all yours appear to have a whiter translucent base instead of that of the so called muddy base of an angel. Also as Ric said yours are Rainbo's and not NLR's, another story of "close but no cigar" that I am all to familiar with. But also determined me all the more to obtain a real example. Guess I could associate marble hunting with gold mining, "I'm always lookin for a bigger nugget" Hang in there Brother !!............. -
You're welcome Edward !! Both of the marbles I have pictured & the onionskin you have are handmade while all the cats eyes are machine made.
-
A bunch of them will probably fluoresce to, just in case you like that kind of thing ??
-
Last pic big one is definite Onionskin, "underlying coat of opaque white covered or striped with other opaque colors. A Josephs coat will be minus the skin & have little windows between the opaque colors where the interior of the marble will be visible, often times the windows or cracks between colors will be so thin you'll have to backlight a Josephs coat to see the windows between the colors. This first one here has large spaces between the colors to make an easier I.D. for you. As said some J. coats will have a very narrow space between the colors and not easily discernable like this one. JOSEPHS COAT ONION SKIN

How big is the red miller Bill, I think it's s miller, can't see any seems from here ??.......
-
Yes, they all appear to be early Jabo to me
-
Yes, correct !! Guess I should add, size is often a big help in determining the origin of the manufacture. Foreign marbles resembling master will often be much larger but appear almost the same. Also normal lighting will help immensely for most, in making a positive I.D.

A Friend of mine had this game for a long time, well used I just can't resist these old indestructible games. There are newer ones but this is one of the first, as soon as it came in the mail I ran a good 20 or 30 mibs through it just for good measure, missing a little paint on the outside but well preserved on the playing surface. I can imagine how may smiles and hours of fun this brought to many a youngsters face. Simpler times and treasured memories. No drool on the PC screen here, I play these games one reason I prefer these to an old new stock example, all you can do is look at them ?? These have actual History behind them, not sitting on a dusty old shelf for years, just a personal preference, I am after all a child at heart 👨👦 My body has grown old but my mind always goes back to the best of times.
