A rare bird ?

Had a feeling I wasn't in the right spot.

Well I packed up a few cases of nice marble's for the estate sale people to look at today, I was told to be there this morning @ 8:00 sharp before everyone else and the heat. As per usual they where to tired last night to gather up their marble's etc. etc. etc. I don't mind a valid excuse, but when I hear multiple's, well you know the rest. This being the main reason I usually charge for appraisal's. Getting up early, packing up some mib's, the drive there and back for ?? Every once in a while it pay's off, but the once in a while's are really getting far apart. The first thing you hear is, well my "" "" "" has some ( here it come's ) cat's eyes. Oh boy here we go again. Sure wish the Japanese wouldn't have made a kagillion of them. Blah blah blah , Ok I'm done whining. Glad to get that out of my system. Not lately, Chad G.

It was 90 below w/ the wind chill,( no idea what the static temp. was ) and the base being right next to the lake all way's had a terrible breeze going, all I remember is it was the worst winter in over 100 yrs. ( 1979-80 or so ) and a few of my friend's got wrote up for frost bite they received walking 2 block's to medical w/o a face and hand covering's, they called it willful destruction of govt. property since all where warned to cover their face's and hand's completely. I remember Wisconsin being real close, the drinking age there was 18 and in Ill. it was 21 so kid's being kid's you know where we all went. Chad G.

Thank's for gettin back at me, that's one of the 5 pelt's on my list. Only seen 2. Living about as far away from marble country as you can get doesn't make it any easier, glad you shared, Thank's again Chuck" excellent mib's " One of the reason's I love Peltier, the marble's they made are absolutely beautiful, Nothin like em.

A few more med. size. The only and biggest solid core I have, wait I do have a few smaller one's, I think it's bed time.

I only have a few , and they are all newer but still discontinued version's. This is my best and favorite, a very busy first run Michelangelo.

Holy jackpot's Batman. I think my neck is already getting sore, I have to go through some estate marble's tomorrow, the good find's as you well know have been few and far between for some time now. Cross your finger's for me and my back.

Man you've almost run the entire gambit in one box. Nice digs.

I concur with Steph " I think" just kidding. It appears to be a Master to me also.

Some of my nicest coat's, some lobed, some aventurine, a yellow latt. jell core, a couple beach ball type's and a shrunken or two.

This old onion still read's 2.237 " at the widest point, even after someone took after it with a hammer or whatever Thought you might want to see what's going on inside so I took some pic's shinning my flashlight through it. I just keep it around for a conversation piece and inevitably everyone who sees it ask's what it is.

Nice slag's man, I will post the rest of my feather slag's next go round, think I'm down to 3 now😭that leaves 2, I think, have to start looking might be more ???

Nice mib's brother !!! I don't have any liberty cork's anymore, wish I did.

Great mib's, I can't get enough, the two coat's are most excellent. Sold all my onionskin( oop's forgot my yellow lutz I posted in "some of my favorite mib's" so I do have one ) lutz marble's last go round about 12 year's ago along w/ 95 % of my collection, during a bad divorce experience. Good to not put all my egg's in one basket, I try to keep a varied collection but I do have my favorite's. Unfortunately almost anything to do w/ marble's is my favorite. Guess I could be addicted to worse thing's.

I may have a pic of it Ron let me look a while, I know it was a antique German ribbon core, hard to forget a marble like that. Valued so high because it retained it's roundness even at just a hair over 3 inches. "Found it" I have the pic only, I believe it's changed hand's at least once since the Morphy auction, maybe more than once. Someone will recognize the pic. and fill us in w/ the literature I'm sure, ran into the same discussion on another platform a couple year's ago. I had the entire auction post saved at one time, got a new computer and lost allot of data in the exchange. A good sized glob of glass to be twirling at the end of a metal rod, let alone keeping it round then making it through the annealing process without cracking, a one in a million for sure.

I must have given away some brain cell's the day I gave away all those metallic rainbows I had, even a few that appeared to have some manner of oxblood, I couldn't see through it when back lit so as to the color it looked like ox, anyway long since gone. Chad G.

Well it has the internal structure of a feather slag. Keep on I'm listening and respect your enthusiasm to tell what you have learned. Thank you much wvrons, very, very informative, and for taking the time to explain your pic's, if you are like me marble knowledge stick's like glue, not soon if ever to be forgotten, maybe changed but always willing to learn something new, I love it. Regards, Chad G.

I have some more father son pic's taken, had to wait for the sun to be in the right place, I jumped the gun a little, some shadowing but still look OK. Took what turned out to be some great machine made pee-wee shot's to.

That make's 5 mib's that are on my hit list, never see them like your's anymore, it's been long enough now that most collectors are holding onto what they have like a barnacle stuck to a ship, if you don't you may never see it again, by the way Chuck "verrry nice mib's" thank's for sharing. Question !! The green one on the bottom row second from the (L) is that a lantern or a goblin or somewhere in between as a few other's are?? I had a line on a galaxy 19/32 which I believe 90 percent of them are, unfortunately they wanted between a little to much for it. Wet mint yes but I just can't swing over a couple grand for one. A couple more then I'll try the gang approach again !! Chad G.

I have a few of these angel fish around and some moon and star's I got from David S. at the Seattle show a few year's back, this particular mib was in a jar at a yard sale of " yes " cat eyes clear at the bottom, "somebody made a mistake". Won't say what i paid but it was about 1/6th of what's it's worth. I don't think David put's lutz in the stripe in these anymore unless you ask for it, anyway gonna hold onto this one. " another bad pic of a wet marble, sorry bout that"
