No need Shiroaiko. Marble collectors can get quite passionate. I think that all is well. @davesnothere @Ric? Marble--On!!

Ohh, I have owned many Cats--or they have owned me----. My last cat,“Ragnar” put a fox down like he was a lion. Pretty cool to see it happening—I watched for a while and then I scared the fox off—the fox barked at me like I was the asshole—Ragnar was ready to kick his ass. I love cats—nuff said.

The written word can always be mistaken. I urge you all to back off here. I do not want to end this discussion, but I will in the name of “TheMarbleConnection”. This is my job and I take it quite seriously. Marble--On!!

Ohhh! What would you call the lower middle one Ric? Marble--On!!

I think that the box is 1954 or so from the Korean War---cigarettes--probably Korean made as well as the marbles. Yep—Korea made marbles—still do. Check out the Imperial marble boxes. You will find it there. Marble—On!!

A couple Jabo types. I think not common classics though . . hmmm?

Your opinion counts for sure Ric. Thanks for sharing your insight. The newer collectors have a hard time deciphering what you are saying for sure. I have never meant to talk down to the newer collectors—just share info. I just want to clear it up somewhat. Thanks for sharing what you do here at "TheMarbleConnection". It is getting on to where you will step out for awhile. (yes, I keep track) I/we will always welcome you back for sure! Stepping out of collecting marbles for a bit is not a bad thing--it is a sane thing to do. You will be missed! (for awhile at least) Marble-On!! -
Hmmm a new bait? Tell me how to fix a hook into marble and I will try it🌀. Marble--On!!

Dave pointed out what may be an Akro "Popeye".--Good eye Dave! These are all pre 60's USA made marbles inho. Nice find! Sort them better and we will give our best opinion here at "TheMarbleConnection". Marble--On!!

Lets slow this thread down a bit and ask @Mojo for some opinions here. Lets all back off for a bit and get our bearings. (this one is getting heated mojo--rescue us all🙃) He will always be my go-to regarding Dutch marbles/Wirepulls vs any other collector that I know of. Take a deep breath and wait for an opinion from Mojo😇. I love a great discussion--a discussion that is getting to the point of an argument is not a great thing here at "TheMarbleConnection". I just love the passion here but I have to keep it in check a bit as a Moderator. Please do not respond to this post--just take a step back and reconsider what has been said so far. I see no reason for discontent here in this thread. As Always--- Marble--On!!

Here is an old link that really got no-where discussing the same thing. https://marbleconnection.com/topic/5124-akro-ades-and-some-misconceptions/ The Ades thing is a must read.. what they did not discuss was that some of the ades that were boxed included marbles that included glass that would not mix with the glowey stuff. All glass colors do not get along with each other. Marble--On!!

Welcome Nikiforos to TheMarbleConnection. I think that you will find Plenty of Vacor in your country. Just look around at second hand shops and thrift shops. The stores that cater to the arts and crafts folks will also carry some marbles. I wish you luck in your searches--and of course--- Marble--On!!

I do not think so--The "Ringers" could be considered as Imperials--just boxed differently with a name attached by Akro. Good insight and research! I think that the top middle one is just a very nice Corkscrew although I have seen these boxed as “Imperials” as well. Check the ones with the dark lines for oxblood, they may be Carnelian Oxbloods—they will not glow in my experience. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble—On!!

I agree with Fire that yours is a Pelt. Th OG is a deeply veneered marble--Image one shows this--probably a Marble King--an older one for sure--(the color is not deep enough to be a Pelt), with weird colors as Ric says. I see no evidence of OX in either one. Just my humble opinion here. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!!

No Fire, it spun on an axis that flipped and flopped in a short direction over the rollers that were not in line but out of line with the furnace. The cup spun one way then another to get to the other side of the rollers. I believe that they were chain driven. The rollers spun in different directions to the final drop and annealing process. Not parallel but in a cross line like a "T" Here is some good stuff from Stephs Study Hall that we all should consider.(Thanks Steph!) More images of each would narrow it down. The Left one may be a Pelt and the right one may be a nice WVS. Marble--On!!
