kbobam
Ooof! That two-toned blue on clear blows me away! I'm just guessing on this one, but I figure the marble is what "...condenses all vapor, and allows no aroma to escape." I enjoy this concept! Unlike the Folger's people, who always have the entire house smelling like coffee in their television commercials, this manufacturer seems to be implying that no aroma means that all the flavor remains in your beverage! Thanks, Steph, for the cool ad(s) as always. I've loved these since I was a little kid. One year, back in Prehistoric time, someone came out with a modern reprint of the 1909 Sears-Roebuck catalogue. It was the only thing I wanted for Christmas. Visited Grandma for the holidays, and told her about it. She decreed "Then you shall have it!" As I later figured out, Dad already had it for me under the tree back home. As often happens in the sit-coms, 'hijinks ensued!' ( :

Ric
That is a cool picture, Winnie, it looks like they are making cube stock to hand shape on a wheel. The marbles are Alleys - a few rare ones.
hdesousa
That is a cool picture, Winnie, it looks like they are making cube stock to hand shape on a wheel. The marbles are Alleys - a few rare ones. It does look as if they are making cube stock, out of limestone blocks. But if limestone, the cubes were not hand shaped on a wheel (ever seen agate type facets on a limestone marble?). The grinding wheels in the background diagram indicate the cubes were probably ground into toy marbles: LIMESTONE MARBLE(S): noun. Stone marbles made of limestone, ground spherical in water powered mills (similar to flour mills,) primarily in the Sonnenberg-Coburg region of Germany dating back to the 18th century. ..... http://www.americantoymarbles.com/glossary.htm Winnie, do you have the website this picture was taken from? Steph
I think there were some Koko articles in the WV newsletter but, sadly, I let my subscription lapse. And I haven't seen much original koko packaging. .... *leaves to go start a thread about that*
