Marble--On!!

Thanks Art, I love that Vitro lavender color - it's very distinct, so I just thought I'd show it on a few different types.

It looks sorta Akro-ish to me, especially the colors. I'll have to get into the archives and see what I can find. Nice marble though, regardless of who made it!

Hey Ric. Here is a sister marble to the one in that picture. Any thoughts?

I really am not sure but I am leaning Akro over Vitro - sort of like a multicolor Popeye Patch, IMO - the colors seem off a bit for Vitro to me too. It's a very nice marble though, regardless.

House of Marbles machine

Thanks cheese.

Nice marble!

This is the first that I have heard of them having a machine.

I need more info and will appreciate anything that you have to add.

Vitro had the machine. It belonged to House of Marbles in England. They commissioned Vitro to make them some large boulders and Vitro had a difficult time making quality marbles on it. Eventually the machine went back to England. A rare few examples of the marbles are around though.

Thanks cheese,
I have always thought of "House of Marbles" as a "Jobber" of those made by other companies.

I looked and looked at this one.
This one is another good example of my study of Vacor marbles. I tried to make it a Vacor and it just did not add up.
Imho this is a Vitro—“All-Red” coming in at 7/8”.
Nice coverage for sure—a killer Vitro.
I appreciate all opinions and wish to see some.
I learn every day and I appreciate that from all that include themselves in the posts.
