  1. Some swirls, some of these are grouped since they came together, not by company just swirls
  2. FWIW these didn't glow except for a couple slightly in the yellow parts. (makes it look orange). Maybe these are mostly just two color rainbo's, but i think at least the top right two are Kokomo. and the bottom pic.
  3. bigjohn, you mean primitive as in age or design? Or both? lol Yours is cool, what do you think it came off of? I've seen a couple on piano stools or tables before but those are only about an inch or so. The 78 meaning 1878 puts it in time frame for a handmade but instead of "Patent April 4 1878", maybe it's "patent applied for (4) 1878". Who knows, could be wishful thinking on my part and it's just some sort of manufacturer code that's partly illegible from the rust. but I'd love to know what they were originally mounted to.
  4. Looks like 4 PAT APL 78 but it's rusty That's a really interesting link, I was going to skip over the legalities at first, but interesting stuff. This is formed, not cast so the "marble" actually rolls. Cast claws probably wouldn't roll as well or maybe wouldn't be designed to roll in the first place, just slide.
  5. Al, I'm digging that first one, is there any blending or is it only pistachio green/black. Here's an odd combo.
  6. Thought this was pretty neat, usually these casters have a smaller "bullet mold" marble but this is definitely hand made. Even has what could be a patent date on the top which might be hard to make out in the pics. I don't know if there's a proper term for these casters since most are a more ornate "claw" setting so I called it a claw foot in the title. Any Patent enthusiasts around that can shed some light. I wonder if Germany would patent something like this intended for export? What do you think?
  7. So it turns out I was being proactive in my earlier post without having to edit. That's great. Maybe we'll see the proper Vacor with a similar pattern and yellow soon
  8. The Vacors I've seen like this (haven't seen them all...) are more of a red/yellow/black. Maybe I've got the ID wrong and those are rebelious Vacor wicked golden owls, er broken indian blankets. The lavender is pretty unusual. I'm really not seeing much resemblance to anything Akro. Therefor I've concluded my post is pretty much useless. Thanks
  9. I'll show my boating ignorance here: did the seats have a harness or seat belt to keep you strapped in? Or did you just hold on for dear life? Cool pic
  10. One of these days I'll get around to some newer pics (and maybe some nicer Akros). Some of the ones so far are crazy!
  11. Nice way of saving gas to boot! What did the one above the big onionskin end up being? Top right looks like it could be OK too if it's a vintage hand made
  12. Most of these should be in the right category, might be a couple that aren't.
  13. I think most of these are Master, not sure about the top left but it goes well with the group
  14. These reverse, but not on both poles like the first one. Pelt made = cool patterns .
  15. I posted a couple before, will see if I still have the pics around. I really like these types!
  16. Cripes, Is it possible to start a Jabo-related squabble category? Or filter by keywords? Who am I kidding. I love it and read them all (well most of them) Sometimes it's just soothing enough to fall asleep, other times it's entertaining like an elbow drop from the top rope, or the camel clutch. "Dick the bruiser" lol
  17. Buttermilk? good informative thread to hear what is thought (or thought of).
  18. Those are all super cool, a couple there Galen almost look like "ribbon core" patterns like you'd see in old handmades. (clear, yellow, green ones) Some other good ones for the cause, 'Claus lol. lame rhyme but really digging those bottom right two.
  19. Winnie, are those agates faceted? Some of the smaller vintage marbles were likely intended for crafts or jewelry. I can imagine how easily those tiny "marbles" would get lost if actually played with as marbles. cool though!
  20. The first pic in this thread has some interesting looking marbles, thanks Winnie
  21. Looks like it could be considered one of those gaping black hole marbles. The kind you take a guess at but can't quite ID. Clarksburg WV, right? Sorry, not much help on this one, nice marble though.
  22. I like to see that this thread is still going, some interesting marbles for sure
