    Moving ....

Thank you. We took one small load over to the new house already. We're close enough to do it by carload for awhile. I think one more load after Survivor tonight. And ohmigosh, I'm finding more marbles! Nice ones. Ones I thought I only had a few of, and I was sad I had so few of them! And now I have a whole lot more. This is going to be more fun than I thought.

    Moving ....

Papers signed. Moving now. Excited! First time as homeowners. SOOOOOO excited. Not sure when we turn off this internet account and set up a new one. And redo all the computer connections. Not looking forward to that change. Don't want to cut the cord.
  3. Pretty sure that's a yes to oxblood. Nice. Will wait for help with the run ID.
  4. I want all of these. I'll send you guys my new address as soon as I move.
  5. Oooh. I don't remember seeing that before. Maybe have but neat to see it now. Nice illustrations.
  6. With four sorta wavy vanes like you're showing and glass that clear, it's going to be American-made. After that it gets complicated enough that you might be sorry you asked! I'm not quite as up-to-speed as I used to be on Cat's Eyes. But with the four vanes in that particular shape, I'm going to say most likely Marble King, with some possibility of Bogard or Heaton. Bogard Cat's Eyes have been known for bubbles. Could be as early as the 1950's. However, Marble King is still making Cat's Eyes. I'm not sure when Bogard stopped making them. The most modern Marble Kings can look a little different. Here are some modern ones: http://www.marblekingusa.com/cat-s-eye-marbles.html Here are some Bogard bags: http://marbleconnection.com/topic/22188-heatonbogard-cats-range-of-variation/#comment-197764 Note: Being in a Bogard bag doesn't always mean Bogard made them. If I remember correctly, Bogard got some Cat's Eyes from Marble King when they were running short and had orders to fill. Also, Bogard bags could have Heatons in them. (Mr. Bogard bought the company from the Heatons, so there's some continuity there.)
  7. Hey, Soup, this is up your alley.
  8. They can be homely but you gotta love 'em.
  9. When you scrape the frost off the window that's what you see? (*waves at Darla*)
  10. I'll try to do better next time. Yours was nice.
  11. There once was a hai- ku from Nantucket. Oh wait, that's not right, is it.
  12. Thanks, Paul. Maybe later if I'm feeling very naughty I'll add some examples which have multi-color ribbons but NOT the flip-flop. But for now I'll behave. It's a good pattern to recognize for Pelt ID's. We talk about it when we're helping in the ID section but pictures are worth a thousand words.
  13. Sure thing. But I gotta warn you ... shipping is a bugger.
  14. And here's a little something to go with the box. A 1931 ad: And I have this one as from 1930:
  15. Whatever the color order is on the left side from top to bottom, it's reversed on the right side. On the left, orange then white. So on the right, white then orange:
  16. Found my old flip flop teaching pictures but don't let that stop more examples from being posted! My examples were limited -- both with transparent bases -- and with this subject it is definitely the more the merrier.
  17. Yes! Thank you! Just what the doctor ordered.
  18. That's one which will make me have to look for new adjectives. Very nice.
  19. I had a Pelt Flip Flop picture, and now I can't find it. One which was all nicely labelled to explain the Flip Flop concept. And now I can't find the photo and my meager Pelt collection is packed away for our move. Anyone up for taking some pix of Pelts angled to illustrate the flip flop pattern in the ribbons?
  20. Shoot! Morphy changed format and now I can't figure out how to link to Morphy auctions reliably. Looks like the same address may be used for the marbles section in different auctions. This address: http://auctions.morphyauctions.com/Category/Marbles-136.html I got that from the September auction and then later clicked on it and it took me to the December auction. For September 23 & 24, 2016 go here and then look for the Marbles section: http://auctions.morphyauctions.com/catalog.aspx?auctionid=250 For December 10 & 11, 2016 go here and look for the Marbles section: http://auctions.morphyauctions.com/catalog.aspx?auctionid=267
  21. Needed these for another discussion so I'll post 'em here too. Sunsets ....
