  1. Looks like several of the earliest (cleanest and brightest) Master Sunbursts.
  2. It's pretty. Does it have a name?
  3. Congratulations. Nice conversation pieces!
  4. Good advice! Smile and breathe.
  5. I set an, ahem, shall we say "unambitious" baseline. rofl (8586 points)
  6. Hello Fritz. Great question. I know that German marbles were used as casters on the bottom of furniture, like on piano benches. And smaller sized marbles were used as things like wine stoppers. I look forward to hearing what other answers you receive.
  7. Like, man, that was really beautiful man. Peace out.

    Hi

    Fantastic. And how beautifully displayed.
  9. I'm inclined to think the mesh bags are Peltier. We know Peltier used the name Marine Crystals. We know other companies had other names for clearies. So until I get more info I'll guess the Pre-MK "Marine Crystals" were all Pelt. (Do they have a Pelt structure under blacklight?) MK using the name later even makes some sense because of the connection between Peltier and Berry Pink. P.s., when I say "are Peltier", I'm not ruling out jobbering -- Berry Pink jobbered Pelts.
  10. This one makes me dance All the Marbles From the 2007 Mike Woolf film Life is Marbleous Words by S.D. Lishan Music by Andrea Perry
  11. I just saw someone with a marble in their avi on a nonmarble forum and learned she was inspired by a Suzanne Vega song. "Small Blue Thing" Today I am A small blue thing Like a marble Or an eye .... http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/suzannevega/smallbluething.html
  12. See, there you go making me wonder about my boundaries. Maybe someone would call that one a wirepull. The ribbon looks pretty wiry. I'll step back and listen to what others think about it.
  13. I think of wirepulls as primarily European. That influences me in the fuzzy areas. If it looks "close" but I can tell it's American, I probably don't feel tempted to call it a wirepull. If it looks close to what an American marble would look like but I know it's European, that biases me a little and lets me call it a wirepull anyway. Since yours look American, I would call them "transparent swirls". Someone could probably post an example which would test the boundaries of what I just posted but for the moment that's where I am with the term "wirepull". European bag posted by Cees:
  14. Thanks Clyde! This is one for the archives.
  15. Your lighting looks like it is improving. Fewer of the orange pictures. Just a hunch, but I think that will help both sales and ID's.
  16. Welcome, Jeff. 30 years worth of handmades! That's exciting just to think about.

    Hi

New forum. New intro. Hi, I'm Steph. I've been collecting marbles since 2003. I collect mostly machine-mades but I have a fondness for ceramics. My greatest interest currently is marble history.
  18. There's a limit of 425 kb per post. I think that's why you could only attach one photo at a time, Dave. Now stepping aside to listen and learn, since I don't know about beads.
