Help needed. Here is a red, white and blue marble. The white is probably the base. Using Steph's post on seams, I'm coming to the conclusion that this is an Akro, maybe a patch because of the red. One seam has a curve that is almost flat. The other seam is more curved like a "u". The red is clear. Everything else is opaque. There is a little striation on one side of the red patch. It looks brownish orange. The size is 0.64". Just wanting to know if I identified this correctly. Thanks!

Here's a marble that I've had for a couple of years. It has a red base with a white swirl and thin swirly thread. It is not an even swirl like a corkscrew. As the white swirl nears the surface, the clear base looks more orangy. Size is 0.65". Help to ID is very much appreciated!

Six Pack--Vitros? Natural Stone? Jabo? Marble King? Master?
Marbleized replied to Marbleized's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Wow! You folks are amazing! Well, at least I narrowed row 1 down to 50/50. I still have trouble with seams, especially with patches. Now I have some examples to which I can compare my other marbles. Thanks! -
Six Pack--Vitros? Natural Stone? Jabo? Marble King? Master?

Tried to fix my pic problem. I hope it worked. -
Hi Everyone, Still digging through my bunch of marbles during lockdown. Just wondering what's in my six-pack. Thanks for your help! Row 1. left- opaque yellow next to clear green next to weak opaque white on one half, orange blending into a salmony orange into a bubbly translucent sugar syrup white on the other half. 0.61" My first guess is vitro. My second guess is jabo (but there is no diaper fold). Row 1 right- yellow next to minty green (both somewhat opaque) a ribbon of red blended with white on both length's edges. Light shines through the core. 0.60" My first quess is vitro. Then jabo. (No diaper fold.) Row 2. left- opaque marble with "ribbon" that starts off with a light blue and white, surrounded by a very dark almost blackish blue, outlined by brown. 0.58". Wondering if this a natural stone marble. Row 2. right-opaque marble with swirls of white, blue, and caramel. 0.60". Thinking Jabo, then vitro. Row 3. left- blue on ½ of equator, red on the other ½ of the equator. white with a extremely light hint of greenish brown on one cap, White threads in a transparent subtly light blue base. Marble King? 0.63" Row 3. right-- Half dark green (when light shines through it is a rich green with very fine bubbles); other half is a very opaque lipstick red with a dark line running down the middle which reminds me of a vitro helmet. But I'm thinking that it could be a Master only because when you shine a light only on the surface of the green, you can see striations that remind me vaguely of a sunburst. 0.63". (I think I got this off of eBay, but I can't find any purchase history on it.) Thanks! I hope the pics help.

HOW MARBLE NAMES ARE ABUSED
Marbleized replied to MARBLEMISER's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I might be "had" here and there, but never that "had" because of the price tag. That's my default watch dog. 😝 -
Is that a milk glass egg cup on the left? That's pretty cool, too.😉

Thanks for the help!

Random "What Are These" (Jabo, Vitro, Peltiers?)
Marbleized replied to Marbleized's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Thanks! Row 2 #4 is an enigma. That air pop was why I was thinking Peltier, too. The threads of mint green also made me think of the Master Sunbursts, as well. -
Thanks Steph, I forgot all about that site. I need to bookmark it. That first marble also looks like the Giraffe.Thank you too for scrolling through all those pics to help me!😁

Hi Everyone, Spending my morning looking through the marbles. I'm just guessing that these marbles are newer ones, mainly because of the colors. The first two are 0.62" and the third is 0.65". The first marble reminds me of lemon ice and orange sherbet with a light lavender swirl as well. A black line follows the swirls. The second is a swirl of blue, orange, white, and yellow (the white is probably the base). The third is a swirl of blue, chartreuse, the same orange sherbet color as the first marble, and and a dark brown. It also has a slight orange peel finish. So, I'm thinking Vacor for all three, but can't find pictures of these on the net. Opinions? Not sure if 3 out of the 4 pics will upload. I seem to be having some trouble with uploading. But, I think the one pic that I see gives you the gist. Thanks! IMG_5791.HEIC IMG_5792.HEIC IMG_5793.HEIC

Random "What Are These" (Jabo, Vitro, Peltiers?)
Marbleized replied to Marbleized's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Sorry Steph. Just wanted to let you know that I finished this post. I somehow sent the original when I was just starting to work on it.😝 -
Hi Everybody, I had a chance to dig through my marbles again and came across some that I was a little curious about. Left to right. Row 1: 1.dull pinkish red swirl on a base that looks like a blue with white mixed in just before it starts to blend, scattered fine sparkling "dust particles". 0.73" Jabo because the fine sparkles give me a sense that it is more modern. 2. multicolor swirl of opaque white, red, turquoise blue, clear olive green. Colors remind me of Peltier MCS's. 0.73". Jabo or Peltier? 3. Swirl of red, white, and light blue. The white looks like an antique or bone white. 0.70". Akro? 4. Pinkish red, and yellow and brown threads. 0.63" Master Sunburst? Left to right. Row 2: 1. Opaque white, orange, brown. 0.61" Vitro? 2. "Swirl" of vibrant orange on a robin's egg blue base. Seems to have clear glass in there (peeking between the orange and blue). 0.64" (I have several marbles that have this orange/ blue combination so I have a hard time identifying them because they have different grades of orange and blue) Marble King? 3. Cloud like white base with a "patch" of orange, periwinkle blue and possibly some darker blue. 0.63" I can't even guess on this one. 4. Egg Yolk yellow patch (not a rich organic egg yolk, though--had a pet chicken when growing up which was when I was first shocked at the vibrant yellow of a fresh free range chicken) on a base that is a combination of a glob of mint green and the same colored threads in an apple green glass. 0.63" I would guess that it was a Peltier patch except for the fact that there is a clear colored base containing threads of glass. Thanks for sharing your expertise, in advance! (Pics attached.)

I am currently having 1 day weeks. Everyday is the same. So, I know we had some snow and tiny bits of hail at the end of last week. And we are still having evening freeze warnings in Rochester NY. I just moved here and apparently some don't start planting anything until the end of May, just to make sure that winter is over. So I went from summer all year (Hawaii) to winter all year. LOL! Now that I have my covid routines down and my cats are feeling better, I have time to look through my marbles again. Just saw some of the posts on Peltier Realers. I thought those were other marble companies trying to imitate Peltiers. Now I know that I have some realers. I also enjoyed Steph's post on the Peltier Canary. I sure hope that I didn't toss any thinking they were game marbles. I'm pretty sure I got rid of a valuable marble that I'm too embarrassed to talk about. 🥴Oh well, I'm hoping that I made someone happy. LOL. Have a great week!

how do you spend your time
Marbleized replied to bonniemarbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I guess my cats have been keeping me busier than I thought. I missed a whole bunch of posts. I've got to look for Royal3's granola recipe on this site. Anything malt sounds good to me. My husband loves King Arthur flour. It makes so much of a difference for breads and pizza crust. He is the chef in the house. I'm the zookeeper. You folks with the acres of land are so fortunate right now. So much to keep you busy. I need to look up autumn olive. Sounds nasty. And, I have to say, Bibi (Steph's cat) is sooooooooo adorable. Cats are masters at getting attention. One of my cats comes to sit on my piano keys to make me stop. I'm not so sure if he wants attention or if he just wants me to stop. Talking about cars, Woodse, gas is really cheap, but there is no where to go. Sounds like everyone is doing well, considering the circumstances. I'm staring at my marbles and thinking that maybe I will post something in the gallery one day. Take care everyone. -
how do you spend your time
Marbleized replied to bonniemarbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Oh my goodness! With 200 acres (Vrons), "sheltering in place" is just another day in nature! For me, condo living in covid times is a challenge, but I kind of live in a basement now so I'm somewhat isolated from everyone else, except for the laundry room. I just do laundry when everyone is asleep to stay out of people's way. Btw, I'm impressed with the 4+ miles that Steph could do! So, aside from my two senior cats keeping me busy with their special needs, I've been playing my flute and piano more. I can finally memorize a couple of pieces, mistakes and all! LOL. So between songs I'm eating one M&M every 3 minutes rather than 3 of the them every one minute. Made a few face masks since it is almost impossible to get them online or at the stores. I did put my marbles in those tiny little ziplock bags and put the ones that I could identify in separate boxes and found out that I didn't have as many akros as I thought I had. Also, everyday is a Saturday, especially since I'm retired. (Not liking that feeling with this covid thing.) Anyway, not much happening here. Sorry to bore you all. Thanks for letting me post! Stay safe! -
Wow! You can even get lucky on eBay once in a while, I guess! Amazing marbles!

Nice montages! That will be my next project since I'm stimulating the economy by going to the veterinarian right now. 😬Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

Thank you!

Hi Steph, I didn't know Jabo made huge marbles like that. As for the one on the right, I may have posted one similar to that before an I think people did say it was a champion. Duh...how did I forget that? Thanks for your help!--Gail
