  1. I thought I had a pic of one but can't find it, Oh well I like these so I kept em. The biggest one on the left has the same surface as yours does Jess, 3rd one from L to R is polished the other two are untouched.
  2. I know I have this bug bite that's been itching me for over 30 years the only thing that relives the itch is to rub some fresh marbles on it, a very strange affliction with an even stranger cure their also seems to be some kind of weird addictive behavior that goes along with it. Maybe make another post and open another Thank you for the kind words I wonder just how many emojis I can use in one post
  3. I'm getting a little low on Akro, another couple weeks and I'll have to buy some new marbles. Maybe it was in the ground a long time, Where did you get it, either that or dirty rollers can also make that streaking effect along the flow of the glass, or!! the glass was a little cold. In any case A great Akro I'll bet you that's just the same way it left the factory minus the pocket wear, I've had several supermen with that same surface. Glad you like the other corks Jess Chad
  4. A little late but still some snakes to wake you up.
  5. The colors are what I'm riding on, there is no real classic CAC lace pattern in the mib above, ribbon or swirled cut line. I do have an Ebay auction pic from this year here, the colors are quite correct and also the only mib I can think of with that powder blue on top of an amber base. This ones a beauty but if I remember right it had a very extensive fracture, thus the low price. Generally I believe these are a couple hun. at least for a really nice one without fractures, supposedly most where also small, around 19/32 like the mib pictured above. So I guess this is a bigger example at 5/8ths. I'm looking at both pics and the colors do look spot on. Thanks for chiming in Steph !!
  6. Up all night, bored waited till after midnight and made the other post. Yes a little pocket wear but still beautiful mibs Jess !! Some specials. GOTTA HAVE SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Some vintage Peltier Aventurine, a Golden Rebel and a Tiger with blue av. I hope the sparkle will help you see the av. in these, 3 of them I took in the sunlight, most excellent for showing aventurine. I haven't yet perfected the indoor equal like some have. these mibs are around 80-90 years old and still look new, someone took very good care of them. I should have used my tripod you can tell these are freehand, a smidge on the fuzzy side.
  8. Believe me it took a while just to recover what I have now, many hard knocks along the way, but not nearly as bad as it is now. So many people fighting over the almighty dollar. Thank you for the compliment Roby !!
  9. I have pics of a marble I'm pretty sure is a Christensen blue lace, pls. give your opinion on this one. Powder blue swirls on an amber base it does have a reflection just want to make a positive I.D. If yes size is 19/32 an approximate value, I would grade it a mint - w/ asmade crease and the 1 reflection.
  10. "Happy Akro Friday", here's one you don't see every day a carnelian oxblood and a couple regular carnelians out in the sun.
  11. If you're dealing with real oxblood when back lit, light will pass through a translucent or transparent mib but not pass through the oxblood, hard to do on the mib demonstrated here being opaque, just "my opinion" but I don't believe it's real oxblood. but a darker color of red similar to oxblood.
  12. Not so common I don't believe, a yellow snake in yellow bubbly champagne like base glass. I know it's not Friday but I'm close. I have a good one for tomorrow, it's hard to wait but wait I will.
  13. Hello Roby, Yes, all original German w/ the green glow when a uv. light applied. I used to have between 20 & 30 before I sold my collection in 09. I can say without a doubt in "my mind" these are orig. Germans. All of these are pictured in Stanley Blocks book of sulphides and are well known common sulphides. None of the double and triple or copied California's have the glow. Here's another better pic. of a few. Two different running rabbits a frog and a pig. The light spots are just reflections, these are in A no. 1 shape. I'll try and get a group pic of them glowing, a more subtle glow in most cases than a newer ade marble but never the less a uv. glow. I included a couple singles of the pig and a donkey for I.D. purposes, Both clean examples and both are pictured in Blocks book, the same with the others. After I bought the little rabbit I read a write up on original sulphides, the uv. glow and the California copies, so I purchased a Battery powered hand held UV. light and yes!! it glowed, a lucky, "driving blind" purchase at that point. That donkey is huge, over 2 1/4 inches, you can see the size difference in the first display pi. I was raised on a farm in Oregon so all of these bring back some treasured thoughts and memories from my childhood. AS far as your "question" Roby if you read Marble Alans statements on sulphides, every positively German I.D. sulphide glowed and the unidentifiable or double and triples that showed in the 80's and 90's did not, so sulphides yes, German no. They've done some electron microscope pics of the surface glass in the past and found definite differences in the two types of glass.
  14. Great pics, yes I found a tripod a necessity, even your heart beat can make for a fuzzy pic, all the time I get lazy and try to go free hand and after several attempts I finally get it. Generally speaking I only use the tripod for a large group of pics! but yes a definite plus, when I bought my tripod it cut hours into minutes. Thank you for the pictorial Jess, That lens was well worth the money 10 times over, at least. Oop ! another pic, I'll stick with the uv. Ade glass this time. Chad G.
  15. Looks like Master for manufacture, not sure on the oxblood. Someone else will chime in w/ the correct info
  16. A block of some old goodies, I know you like corks Jess, all but one a limeade swirl. Second row down, second in from L to R
  17. Agreed on the dark colors Steph, some of mine look identical color wise, Alleys to boot but not all glow, I have mine in with the others anyway you can't tell until you throw uv light on them.
  18. Endless !! A great fit and one up on me also, man I gotta get one of those clip on macros, their incredible,. By the way exactly how close can you get with that or should I say how much will it magnify something, just a little off subject question ?? here's a pic just to stay in step. One to light the way in this Christmas season.
  19. There's a lot of people on every buying and selling platform trying to get you to believe what they have is what they say, when they know it's not. I wish people could just be more honest and forthright. 5 minutes of research will generally tell you what you have or at least give you a good idea, if you're selling something and don't know "say so" The people bidding generally know what their throwing their money at you would think ??. Everyone is out for the money, kinda takes the fun outa this hobby. I'm very glad for places like this where we can all come to learn, share info, make friends and have a little fun while were at it. So many bad posts and outright scamming going on. Ah that's enough outa me, I guess it's buyer beware like always.
  20. I've had several Chrissy electric yellow slags and the yellow color is inside and out, some with a lot of white some you could barely detect. It just looks external in the pic because of the window in it. Many of my yellow electrics had white on the outside and inside, I'm sure under a different light yours will turn out to be electric yellow also Bruce. I grabbed these examples from all over, my old ones my friends, Ebay, where ever I could find some really good examples. Hang on a sec I'll post an electric w/ white in it. Sami just sold this one the other day, white doesn't qualify or disqualify it as being electric, it's the color of the yellow. A slag will always have color outside and inside like yours and the yellow above and the one in the pic below. I believe you have an electric mib Bruce I was just posting multiple examples so you could get a good idea on electric colors. I traded the last 5 Christensen I had last month, I guess I got burned out on them. Going with Pelt and some newer Dichro. Heck some of these marbles I'd have to save for 6 months to buy, way out of my price range.
  21. x2 no Christensen, congrats on the nice Alley pistachio excellent swirling pattern !! Christensen's in any form are getting very hard to come by, once you see and hold a layered sand in your hand you will never forget what they look like, a very rare marble and VVVHTF (very very very hard to find ) "kudos" for the guess, just throw it out there, the worse you can be is wrong and when you learn what it is it will not easily be forgotten. All the marbles I guessed wrong on in the past are now well remembered.
  22. A bunch of milky oxbloods, I know it's not Friday but I'm bored !!
  23. Another striped opaque, again these marbles are all Christensen Electric green slag Electric Striped transparent electric yellow slag Electric striped transparent
  24. Another Christensen w electric colors, picture courtesy of "Marble Collectors Of America" Marble collecting . com
