  1. Welcome to MarbleConnection, Cam! You have found yourself a great site with some wonderful, knowledgeable people. Lots of experience working together here too make it an enjoyable collecting experience. Have fun 😊
  2. I've settled on the fact that I would rather find them (treasure hunting, auctions, etc.) then buy them like that. I'll probably never have some of the goodies others have here but at least I wouldn't have the regrets or headaches. Sure, like Chad says, the research into a listing could roll over into a decent purchase (pinpointing that honest seller with the real deal), they are out there. Making money selling on Ebay has its rewards, I've done it many times. But if you don't have that reputation as a good, honest seller, it won't ever be consistent profit-wise. You want the good buyers coming back and spreading the good word about you. Out of hundreds and hundreds of antiques and collectibles I have sold, I only had 1 negative review. And that was on a Garfield Christmas train set I sold from the Danbury Mint. I purchased it 2nd hand and apparently the former owners were smokers. The buyer complained that the porcelain train pieces smelled like smoke. I couldn't smell a thing. As an honest, fair seller, I refunded the gentleman without argument and even thanked him for his purchase and time 😊...I eventually got out of the Ebay selling thing mainly because of the time consumption, the continuing additions of seller listing fees, and the rising costs for shipping. Back then, there weren't near as many crooked sellers as there are these days. My advice to too Ebay shoppers- Research the item, ask questions, read very carefully EVERYTHING in the listing, and check out the sellers rating AND reviews from other customers. Maybe even ask some of the folks here, they might know a seller too hook you up with. Myself, I'll enjoy the hunt and the occasional rewards for the effort put in. I might not ever have some of the awesome mibs some of my collector friends have, but that's ok. I'm happy enjoying how I do it and the people I'm collecting with here. To each his own, but good enough rewards for me 😁
  3. Rosanne Rosanna Dana rant for sure 🤣
  4. Yeah, you were laying down enough jackhammer madness that even Goldberg would be jealous 🤣
  5. Nice ones, Tommy and Bruce 👍
  6. The middle yard and backyard gardens since 4th of July weekend...it's a regular Jumanji out here! I've never had tomato plants this big...I'm right at 6'1" and these things are taller than me! Can only get my hands half way around the big ones...picking peppers and cucumbers regularly (cucumber for canning pickles and a poblano pictured)...compared to that pinwheel next to them, the onions are doing well...also pictured is an acorn squash, pumpkin and a baby watermelon 😊 I put the bee in the watermelon patch, paying homage to the gal who continously is out there multiple times daily self-pollinating them 😁...going too be a busy fall around here!
  7. Wild idea, if you could make it work, but what about somehow placing/applying mibs into/on the body? Some sort of image or design made out of marbles? Just a thought. Don't even know if that would look good or not. Wasn't sure how extreme you were thinking about getting with your makeover. Like I said, just a thought too display your love of glass 😊
  8. I've had them before, but this time around most of us here at MarbleConnection were it! Pretty wild too...We were at a large, abandoned school building out in the middle of nowhere, don't recall a town or state. What was weird was that all the people here who have posted a face in the "Face to a name" thread, I could see you clearly. The ones who don't have their face posted, your names were known and even said, but never "saw" your faces, just your backs! We were at this building, you guessed it, marble hunting....we had all the tools we needed to remove flooring, which is what we had done all over the place. Steph had the only jackhammer! I remember that we found tons of mibs, so many different kinds. Every time a shovel blade would hit a marble, it would screech really loud, like fingernails on a chalkboard! Someone (don't remember who), found a couple of them that were super huge. One had Santa claus inside of it and the other had Thomas the train 🤣 We also found out that the old school was built on top of an underground lake, which Steph found because she wouldn't stop with the jackhammer. A bunch of marbles fell in the water, someone jumped in after them but never came out. I also remember now that Ron had a little gadget in his hand, that looked like a compass, but it located marbles in the ground instead! There's more but it's pretty vague, can't put it too words. I do remember also that we were using shopping carts too haul everything with and that we left when the floor started shaking. I think we were naming some weird ones we found, but that's all I remember about that. Enjoy the weirdness of my dream 😁

  11. I like that Pelt too the left of the blue base glass pelt, close up by itself? 😁
  12. Actually, you know who that marble really looks like? The little Play-do guy, Mr. Bill!! 🤣🤣🤣
  13. Hair, eyes and a smile...now that's a marble with Intellect and good looks 😁
