  1. That seems right - with instructions and mint, maybe $25. I agree with Steph on probably Alley with the Bullseye bag.
  2. Looking forward to it! By March, all you easterners and northern mid-westerners and northeasterners (I'm good at making up words) should be ready for a change of weather. Come out this way to visit all of us!
  3. Thanks all! So far today it's been all work (volunteer type) but now time to relax, hit a movie and dinner.
  4. I have picked up a few Pelts over the few years I have been collecting although not many high end ones. I like the unusual Pelts - here's a few I got at the Orange County (LA) Show a couple years ago
  5. Somewhere in the above, there was a question about whether any were in packaging. With regards to the Peltier Citrus types, Jeff Hale posted a picture of one of the boards back in Feb. 2003 or so. Here it is a Peltier Big Boy bag.
  6. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a marbleous New Year!
  7. How's the ice fishing, Griff? Hope you have a safe and warm birthday!
  8. Of course it depends on the condition of the box. The one I picture here that I have I got for $25 or so. It's a little beat up so... I have seen these range from $20 up to $45 or so but it's been a while. There are also some Weatherbord Shoes advertising on an Akro Box and some others I believe. Also, some bags but those you have to be careful of since some may have been "filled".
  9. Neat display - good variety of marbles like Black Eye Pea, Sweet Pea, great corks, furnace marbles and some 8 fingers....
  10. Not that I have seen unless they were an accident. Theirs were primarily transparent swirls where the internal swirling was random and the sirls would 'touch' each other throughout the pattern. In a true wirepull, the pattern does not 'touch' itself.
  11. Here's the one pic I have of the one Roman Marble donated by Bert Cohen to National Marble Museum. I'm guessing it was transferred to WVMAG with the other marble items.
  12. If you are not sure Steve - maybe it is a Vacor...?
  13. I have not see one like that or even a picture, except the pic you posted last Feb.
  14. Once you have more than two colors plus the clear base and wispy white, you have a hybrid popeye. Calling it a 4 color popeye is just furthering the description, which is good. A hybrid could have 3 colors plus the clear and wispy white or 4 or 5... Obviously, the more colors, the rarer the popeye.
  15. If you are shipping a bag of marbles (not a baggie full of marbles) like a Vitro or Marble King or advetising polybag or especially a mesh bag, put the bag inside of a baggie or bubblewrap and then wrap/tape it tightly before putting into the final package (usually a box). You want to ensure that the marbles inside the bag cannot move at all (boxes get thrown, etc. by shipper). That way the polybag or the mesh bag does not get torn. Over the years, I have had a few valuable bags get torn because the shipper did not think about it. There was one mesh bag that the shipper carefully cut out some styrofoam to fit the dimensions of the bag lying flat in a box. He put styrofoam on all sides, etc. But, the marbles inside the bag could still move and I received a bunch of marbles outside of a torn up mesh bag....
  16. Thanks for sharing the pics and info.
  17. Also, marblealan was an archaeologist (I think) before 'retiring' to sell marbles. He might have some insight. I posted that in the other thread also.
  18. Another person you might want to contact who is also an archaeologist (if I remember correctly) is Alan Basinet - 'marblealan' on eBay. He didn't specialize in 'marble archaeology' but he is quite knowledgable in both fields. I don't want to post his email here but you can always contact him through one of his eBay listings.
  19. Pretty! If someone posted these from the US as a question, I would be thinking of some of the Jabo special runs.
  20. One of the Superman ones, right? More pastel looking colors - neat!
  21. Good job on the video - almost like being there - thanks!
