That gray material is like the gun case material but the 'holes' are closer together. I had gotten it some years ago from someone on the boards - can't remember who. The larger type you can find anywhere where they sell mattress foam.
-
I think Marie is thinking computer storage and 'pop' might be talking about physical storage. Here's a pic of part of my display and some other storage ideas. The one with the gray background is the smaller type foam in a cigar box size box.

The two Buddy bags with the 'non-box' type header is a new one for me. I've got the other style but not that type. Definitely Ravenswood marbles.

Question About Peltier Purple Tiger
Al Oregon replied to manddrakes's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Good pics - that orange base really threw me from the pics. Looked like orange ribbons ona black base. Cool marble - I can see where the purple ID comes from. -
Question On Cross Thru Cats
Al Oregon replied to cat's eye jack's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Having a set together would command a higher price than the individual marbles. I can't sell the white cross-thrus at shows (5/8 size) for $2 - $3 each. -
Question About Peltier Purple Tiger
Al Oregon replied to manddrakes's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
So the base color is purple, not black? Of course, we have always discussed black not always being really black but sometimes a very, very dark purple. Maybe we need to put our regular tigers under bright light and see if there is a tinge of purple? -
I received a reply back - good thing I emailed her to question her. Any of you going to the show next month will get a chance to see her and it. Here's her reply to me. ----------- Hi Al: Thank you for the heads up. I didn’t give it a second thought that it was anything but a clay with letters on it. I can take it to the Ohio marble show next month to have it looked at. I will take it off E-Bay as I don’t need my reputation tarnished. Thanks again. C

That seller just puts them out there. Some are 'junk' but some are vintage and unusual so people buy them. Likewise for the newer type like this one - pretty marble. Not a bad place to keep an eye on but you run through a hundred to find one or two worth bidding on.

I've bought from Christina a few times and never had a problem. I'll email her and see what gives.

Cross thru cat's of various types shows up in Arco ,Banner, Ray Gee and Sun Brand bags also. I looked at my Azuma bags and did not see any with other than the 3 color Japanese cat's-eyes. Thereare some shooter bags and the cat's-eyes can be a little odd in some of the larger sizes but outside of an oddity in the 5/8 inch size ones, that's what you'll find in the bags.

Old Running Rabbit Auction, Looking For More Info!
Al Oregon replied to JVVmarbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Buymarbles.com is Craig Snider with Kansas City Marble Club and is on the boards periodically. Did you email him? He keeps a lot of marble related information so he might have the specifics. -

I know a few years ago I tried to find out any information from Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce but they had no info. The corporation commision just had basic name info. I have bags in the Master Marble style headers, the Champion style headers (including a couple with Whirlwind on the reverse) and ones made in Japan so I am assuming they had the factories make the bags and headers for them. Here's some pics of my bags.

The red & yellow looks like an Akro patch or possibly Master.
-
I'd go with European or maybe Asian. I can't recall any Vacors that look like that unless it was one of their Atmosphere handmades and they didn't go that large.
-
Not the same color as ones in this post but here is a picture of the Bogard cat's-eyes that Ron was talking about - from his display at the recent Texas Show.
-
From the pictures, I would not call them cagedcat's. They do look like some oftheBogard's - they weren't all clean vanes - many 'messed up' types.
-
Joe - it looks like you can find the video on the Dirty Jobs site. Here's the link to the 2009 videos and the marble one (when I looked just now) as the third up from the bottom on the right hand side of the lists. http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/dirtyjobs/episode/episode-tab-02.html

Almost looks like a messed up nine vane and other cage style cat's-eye - neat marble!
-
That is sad to hear. I had also heard that he was ill.

Thanks for another great show report and pictures. It's neat that Diane likes to play with the kids and thinks of them with the toys.
-
Vey nice! What is the one in the upper right in the left picture - some kind of Pelt?
-
Nice Cub Scout - the large ones always seem to have more white showing.

Thanks - my 21st for the third time...!
